  1. UNM has the worst NCLEX passing rates in new mexico: NCLEX Pass Rate (RN Program): 76.1% (data from 2008) note, nearly all of the states community colleges test better than UNM! Making it, also btw, one of the worst performing BSN programs in the nation. Do your research. see: http://www.bestnursingdegree.com/programs/associate-degree-nursing/new-mexico/
  2. good that they are not doing a second degree program any longer. they did not manage it, the older students, and the resulting more demanding educational needs. the program was a joke. they school is being investigated by the state senate for poor performance. cnm is a much better program!!! i know. as a bsn-accelerated student, i used to take classes at cnm to attaing the training i was not getting at unm. nearly 1/2 of our class did not pass the nclex, too. terrible school.

people, the answer is easy. check out the UNM NCLEX passage rates, they are **** poor. having attended several high-end universities, i can testify to the incredibly poor quality of education at UNM. the university, in general, will never break into the nations top 100 list, and the nursing school will certainly stay near the bottom. it is a very non-dynamic institution with many professors that have not cared for patients in nearly 15 yrs. terrible profs. look at the NCLEX rates! it tells it all. crappy school. do the research. the schools cheap for a reason.
  4. avoid UNM. the school is a joke. crappy facility and instruction. the local community college is much better location for nursing instruction. by the way UNM has one of the worst nclex passage rates in the nation for bsn programs. it is crap.

  6. God kills..actually is a fallacy, but congats. What we you recommend as the best study method?
  7. the opinions of others, many of whom are unhappy in their career, is pointless. opt for what choice you like in the current term and thank Satan that you will always have options to change if needed/wanted. dont cry like a typical nurse, but rather enjoy the journey.
  8. ABQ is a terrible city. The city is unfriendly and options are entertainment is limited. In comparison to many of the places I lived, Albuquerque and the UNM nursing school were likely the worst. I was very happy to leave. Very!
  9. UNM nursing school is actually a very poor institution. Their NCLEX passage rates is in the low 70%, where nation wide for BSN programs it is well into the 90%. That is horrific. The program thrusts a lot of junk tasks that have little to no value. The UNM program provides very bad prep for the NCLEX and for nursing in general. It is likely one of the worst BSN programs in the nation either statistically speaking or from content. It is a "busy work" school lacking any form of substance. The school ought be avoided; many of the community colleges offer a better overall education. It is a rather pompous and ineffective school...and I know as an unfortunate graduate of the place. Avoid! And, I did attain the accelerated BSN. It was a waste of money.
