hello guys i would just want to clarify IQNM 8-about drug management. what kind of certification from the school do they need in meeting this criterion? would the course description sufficed? and what is AHPRA's required minimum years of clinical experience to be able to qualify for registration? I hope someone would shed light in these. TIA :))

In section C: proof of identity, what documents can be provided in Categories A, B and C (relative to Philippine setting)? I've checked their list as shown in the form and I can only provide my oversees passport and board registration certificate as pertinent documents. Can I provide them with the basic documents say NBI, SSS, GSIS or other government document to satisfy this? 2. Is the residential address synonymous to my permanent address (my provincial address in the Phil.) or my work address? 3. In section E, in satisfying the criteria 3 (i think it is a new mandate from the Board), it states there: The relevant nursing regulatory authority or agency should provide evidence directly to AHPRA that the program of study which led to registration was accredited by the nurse regulatory authority or agency in the country/state/jurisdiction where the program was delivered at the time you studied. What does it refer to? PRC or the BON? 4. In section E, criteria 4 (under AQF level 7- bachelor's degree), what specific document/s need to be provided in the Board? Do diploma/ TOR suffice? that's all for now. pls bear with my lengthy questions :) I'l appreciate any form of help. God bless us all

is there anyone here who will start their training this Feb 9?? If yes, I would like to ask when did you do your PE; we're just waiting for the result of our laboratory work ups which is due, I think, this monday... TIA

application for SLMC-QC is currently on hold to pave way for the huge bulk of applications that they need to process. how about SLMC-GC? are they really hiring?

i think that construction is already finished and yes, they do accept applications and they are in hiring. btw they prefer applicants with at least 1 year hosp exp or a 6 months volunteerism with certificate- it is written so in their list of requirements (mind you they require a lot of things!) also try to apply in another hospital because you will have to wait several months to be called (i dont know the case if you have a backer). just make sure that your requirements are complete so that they can process it :)

not to dampened your spirits guys but the desk officer said that they will not accept any applications until the first quarter next year and they are still processing those who have applied last 2009. but if you really want this very much, applied ASAP once they have opened again their applications (april or may next year), and try to familiarize yourselves with military hospital setting (i highly recommend Vluna- they offer training program)

@maco1224: yes, rn residents can be assigned at OR (in our batch, 4 rn residents were assigned in OR for 6 months- lucky for them hehe)

the next batch of RN residency will probably start on February next year.. you can apply as early as november i think (i was scheduled for the exam also on november a year ago..)

@glycan: sort of.. its written in the certificate that you have worked as a staff nurse (useful because that's what hospitals abroad need)and no, you will not be required to live in the quarters

@harrydude: you're lucky because you already took the exam upon submission of your credentials.. i have known others who pass the requirements a year ago but still havent scheduled for the exam.. regarding the number of items, I also had thought that i will be just taking the 35 item exam because i have an 85% board rating. but for me its much better because you have a better chance for passing if you take the 100 items than the 35 items. i received the result a week after. i personally went there to know the result because my phone was lost. currently im just waiting to be called for the interview.

may i ask what are the basic educational requirements for the medical administrative corps? my friend told me that a graduate of nursing can be entertained but in AFP website, it does not clearly state if nursing or other medical related course is a pre requirement. hoping for a reply.. :)

@bleuler: yes it is an uncompensated voluntary work (no allowance but sometimes the foods are free) though you don't have to pay for your 6 months of training here.. there is a chance that you will be absorbed if: 1. you have a very high evaluation from your head nurses and 2. you have a very powerful backer @esg:it is a 100 item exam, expect a lot of computations @maricargo: the exam is broad in general, most nursing subjects are included... but a bulk of the questions are computations so you better focus on that one

@kimai: you need to pass the following: a letter addressed to the chief nurse, photocopy of TOR, diploma, prc license card, board rating, resume, chest xray, proof of hepa b immunity, community tax certificate, clearances (nbi, police, barangay), ivt card (if you already have one) and photocopy of the certificates of the seminars/trainings you have attended.. i think thats all the next batch i think will start on august. it is great. it is my first time to work as a professional nurse and the experience really boosts my confidence to work as independent as possible while assuring quality care to my patients. the staff in my area (heroes ward- ortho ward) is so helpful and easy to be with so it is a very conducive to learning and working at the same time... you just have to be initiative and be very careful since no one will supervise to all your actions once you're there... :) @anne15: may to june probably

@kimai: are you referring to the requirements of the rn residency program or the nurse corps program? the requirements i have replied to jay_rulez108 are for the nurse corps program.. requirements for the rn residency program will be submitted after you have passed the qualifying exam and the interview... i do have a pending application to the nurse corps program and at the same time I'm in my 3rd month of residency at the rn residency program..

@frituplus: you mean the rn residency program at AFPMC? sure, i'l keep you updated... but in our orientation, the months for application are: november- december (for those who will start in feb) and may- june (for those who will start in august) wow i appreciate that :).. its just my simple way of "giving back" to those people who had also helped me in this forum :)

@Kimai: yes that would be the initial requirements.. and regarding the dates of the examination, you will not be readily scheduled for your exam date. in my case, i waited for 1 month before i took the exam (lucky for me because when i passed my requirements, i was already scheduled for the exam.. for others- those who had passed the requirements last year- they were just told that they will be informed thru text when they will take the exam and they have not yet received any texts to date ) so it is crucial to make a good impression and a good credentials will also be an advantage..

@burlogsKING: no, when you submit the initial requirements, you will be first assess there by the desk officer if you are qualified to take the exam, if yes, you will be scheduled and you will be notified thru text..

@frituplus: okay, i'm a bit confused now, they have an erratic set of exam. I have an above 80 board rating but still i took the 100 items exam.. oh well at least i still passed it. yes, the desk officer there told me that i would probably be called next year, at the very least, because they are still processing the applications last year.. im training in vluna right now and i've asked those new military nurses about that and they've said that, yes, you will wait for a year or 2 before you are called. . :)

@jay_rulez108: you need to pass the following: photocopy of diploma, transcript, resume, prc license card, board rating.. bring the original copies of these just to make sure.. good luck :)
