Get your A&P grades up to...i dont know....an A and u should be good lol

Grades are everything...if not, it makes up 95% whether or not you're gonna get in. I'm not sure where you go to school, but in majority of the schools (esp in states like ny and cali), grades determines if you'll be accepted into NS.

SCCC/ADN in ny 2.5 cum. gpa 3.9 pre-req gpa applied once to one school after a year of doing pre-reqs. I'm going to quit my corporate job, so I can focus in NS and hopefully get into grad school in a couple of years. I am taking this acceptance as if it was a second chance with education and I'm def gonna try my best and not fool around like I did before. I'm already 25 and I wish I had my act together back then....

If daycare was $1000/mo, wouldn't it be cheaper to go to CC for the day program? CC's tuition are usually very cheap ($10k for the whole program). Plus, classes are about 9 months out of the whole year. You do the math. $22k for LPN is ridiculous...........that's like my tuition for BS at a University (non-nursing). The ADN program I will enter is about $2k a semester. If I were you, I would go straight for the RN. More job opportunities and a significant higher pay than LPN.

if u are planning to go to rn-bsn program or grad school, find work out of state, or find a job in ny...be careful about going to this school. I've heard some bad things from someone who is currently in this school.

if u have good grades, why not just apply to suffolk adn program?

seems like i was reading my life. I was in school for 5 years (messing around, just not motivated with little guidance) and I graduated with a 2.5 gpa. I got a job after graduating at a corporate office (ok money and able to move up), but it's not my thing. About a year ago, I decided to go for nursing, completed some pre-reqs with all A's and I'm starting this fall at a CC near my university. I'm quitting this August and trade in my button down and slacks for scrubs lol. I'd much rather graduate and start off with at least 55k salary (i know its a bad market) than try to move up and hopefully get a 55k salary in 2 years at my current job. You can do it. Just get all A's in pre-req and apply to a lot of programs. Getting a nursing degree is better than going for MBA, MPA, Law School, MSW right now. o i just turned 25 btw. Start young and get it over with. I wish I went for nursing from the start....

my micro grade is not good at all....had some personal issues last semester, but yea, i have the exact same pre req grades as yours. Do you live in suffolk county?

So I've completed all the pre-reqs and now I am taking microbiology at SCCC this semester. I am working full time while attending this class and I am commuting all the way from the city. Not too bad considering it's only one day a week. Anyone that is applying for the 2012 day program, chime in! Here are my grades, how are my chances? ENG 101 - B PSYCH - A BIO 130 - A BIO 132 - A MICRO - ? Should I retake Eng, or is that good enough? Plus I took Eng 101 back in 2005, does that still count?

yea, they MOST LIKELY will not accept anyone outside of Suffolk County. I suggest for those that do not live in Suffolk County area to find someone that lives in there and use their address for mailing.

3.8 was probably the cut off, which is 3 A's and 1 B+ at the least

just wondering, what state do you live in? and I was just asking if you knew anyone that worked at a hospital...maybe someone that works in HR, other nurses or even a doctor? I've heard if you know a doctor that works in a hospital and he/she personally recommends you, it is almost guaranteed that you will get the job...so i guess you can try networking more
