  1. Hey all! I have an interview on a renal floor today (not HD)! My experience is in cardiac nursing. what types of pt's do you take care of? What are the main diagnoses? Any tips? What do you like about it working in renal? I NEED this job more than you can imagine! I moved to GA as a new grad for a cardiac job and desperately want to move back home to CA. Thanks for any advice! Anissa
  2. Just wanted to update everyone! I have lived here almost a year and a half and it has gone amazing! Love my job and I have an interview back home today! Thanks for all the advice and support
  3. WOW! I feel bad for you guys! I work on a Tele/post open heart unit and I have 3-4 pts. 1/2 the time i discharge one and admit one. When I admit 2 it's a bad day! Never admitted more than 2 in a shift. I work 7a-7p in Georgia.
  4. I know a nurse at my hospital who has schizophrenia and she is on the IV team. Strange lady but damn good at IVs and such.
  5. I applied yesterday and have a phone interview tomorrow. I have never been interviewed (i am a new grad). I am nervous and do not want to mess this up. PLEASE give me some advice and examples of questions you were asked. The interview is tomorrow at 11am. thanks!
  6. I have done a TON of thinking about the logistics and how I would make this all work with me and my son. I am Lebanese and my culture takes family extremely seriously so I will be getting a lot of help from my family in GA. My parents are the most amazing parents ever. They plan to hold my hand through all of this. (my mom will come stay with me for a couple weeks) My son wont come out until I have totally figured everything out: babysitter, school, daycare, apartment etc... I truly feel that part of it will be okay. I am more worried about making friends, fitting in and being happy there.
  7. WOW that made me feel better and I haven't even started my first job yet. I think it's going to happen soon so I bookmarked this. I will read it every time I freak out.
  8. I live in the bay area in California and there are NO JOBS HERE! I graduated in May and have been looking like crazy with no luck. Everyone I know who is getting a job knows someone or has a family member working in the hospital. I decided I needed to take advantage of my cousin who is a MD. The catch is, he lives in Georgia. HR has called me and I think they are seriously considering me (probably only because of my cousin...). To add to it, I am a single mom of a 5 yr old boy who I will bringing with me. I am scared, but I want to start my career more than anything. I have never moved out of my parents house so my first time will be all the way to GA. Has anyone relocated for a job? How did it feel? Anyone nursing in GA? How is it? Whats the nurse/patient ratio? It is 5:1 here is CA for med/surg. I think it will be much higher in GA though. I just need some advice and would love to hear someone's story who has done this. Wish me luck. I am calling HR back in a couple minutes.
  9. where did you find this? I am going crazy with no job--no interviews and I am not having a baby! How did you land this?
  10. Thanks everyone. I will officially know tomorrow. I hate waiting!
  11. Most of my classmates have taken it. They all said it takes 3 days. I took it today (tues july 20) and it should be on the site Friday (july 23) if I passed.
  12. I didn't any medication calculations, my test was 75 questions. All my friends got calculations and now I'm worried. I tried the PV trick. Didn't get the payment page. Did you get calc questions? Did you pass??
