Hi! I am moving to Wichita during the second week of July--so I was going to start applying for jobs in a couple weeks. The nurse recruiter said they don't hire GNs on most critical floors, the ED, or on labor and delivery. So I was hoping to apply to a PCU floor--do you know if those are open much? I've only seen a couple and they are only night shifts. Where would you suggest me applying to? Sorry I have so many questions I am just quite lost as I'm not from the area. Thanks for any help you can give me! :)

Thanks! I signed up for it because I need help with the test-taking strategy...not so much the content...I have trouble figuring out exactly what the question is asking and I've heard they help, so we'll see!! I start in May and take the NCLEX in June :)

And I've been looking at the average salaries of an FNP...it of course depends where you're living and working, but the average for the US is $70,144 -- $89,224

Does anyone know the requirements to get into an FNP program? I am graduating in May with my BSN and plan on going back to school in a couple years so I want to make sure I apply for the right jobs that will give me the best experience.

I am so lost with the whole process of transferring license. I plan on taking my NCLEX in Florida as this is where I am attending school but soon after graduation I am moving to Texas and need to transfer my license....should I take the Texas NCLEX here? Or pay to transfer it?

Does anyone have an opinion on taking the Kaplan course for NCLEX prep?

I graduate in May and I have already been offered a job on the floor I am doing my practicum on. I really believe that if you are able to shine on the unit and do good work...rewards will follow :)

I take my boards in June and I just started studying. I bought the Saunders iPhone app that is great--highly recommend it!! And I bought the Saunders book as well...it is huge and scary, we'll see how it goes. I also signed up to take a Kaplan review course as I heard they guarantee you to pass.

I am astonished at the base pay for GNs at Florida Hospital--it is currently at $21

hello everyone!! i am from orlando, fl. my husband is commissioning in the air force in may when we graduate and we are headed to sheppard afb for pilot training. i will be graduating with my bsn and am taking the nclex hopefully in early june. does anyone know if united regional hires gns? if so, what would be a good floor to apply to? there are so many job openings online and i don't know how to go about applying to a specific one. thank you for any advice:redbeathe
