I think what u r askin is wen should bronchodilators be administered? If so.. Bronchodilators should be given AFTER a corticosteroid is administered to open up the airways IF the pt is on both..

I'm having a job dilemma....
I totally understand u on this one.. I'm a new nurse too and a still training at a snf... Honestly, if ur family can do with the pay cut, I'd say go for it since u seem like u know u will finish rn school and go on. I've learned so far that nursing isn't just about school, it takes experience to be better at it. And with experience.. That means more time out into it. So if specialty is what u gotta do to get better at it- go for it.

Were you a know it all at your 1st LPN job???
Hey! So I have a question for all of you! When you first worked (or if you are first working as a LPN) as a LPN-- Did you go into your 1st job knowing how to do everything??!?Because seriously-- I HAVE to VENT! I had my 2nd day today on the ACTUAL floor shadowing LPNs and they are all snotty, mean, arrogant and *****!!!! Believe me when I say this! I went into this new job with a positive attitude and I still have one!I am a new grad, and this is my first LPN Job. I applied to work 0.9 shift on a PM shift in a SNF. I am responsible for MY LICENSE, and I am responsible for making sure that I know and DO what my job title entitles! These LPN girls get extra snooty with me when I ask questions (which is frequent at times) to clarify anything I don't know of. Also.. Today I had the pleasure of shadowing mostly an RN- and she was amazing. She let me ask questions, she let me watch when I felt uncomfortable to do a treatment or to give a med. She let me go at my pace and gave me advice and constructive criticism. So when You landed your very first LPN job-- did you absolutely know how to do every freaking thing from med passes to types of treatments to drugs etc???I didn't pass my boards test for no reason. I studied hard, and today these LPN ladies just confirmed to me that they have no compassion. Their experience and knowledge came from their many years of experience-- where as me?? Im a complete nooby and am ambitious to learn and to excel my nursing skills.. Gosh. Where is the LOVE!!!!!?!??! Ugh! I'm so frustrated!

Was hired for my first LPN job, today!!!
Congrats!! :) So happy for You! I know the feeling- I felt like that too. I just landed a new job too and am in orientation.. I'm excited but super nervous!!!

Exit NLN-PN
well it depends on what kind of exit test this is.. the school i went to we had a exit exam also, and that was the HESI PN Exit exam. Our entire grade and passing score depended on this particular exam. I know that there are other kinds like ATI too. If so, this exit exam basically tests your entire knowledge on what you learned, what you know, and your critical thinking skills as a nurse, i.e. ADPIE. So its everything from pharm, med surge, fundamentals, clinical skills etc

LPN's in Wisconsin ... what do you make/salary?
I am a new grad, graduated in Dec 11 and passed boards Mar 2012. COuldn't apply for jobs right away because I was pregnant. Just applied and got hired on at a SNF. They are offering me $18.50 starting with no experience, and working every other wkends at $19.50. I'm so grateful to get this opportunity to begin my career as a LPN. I had 1 interview in the summer for the State of WI and the starting pay was only $17.69 hourly, no diff.

LPN salary questions
I live in Oak Creek, WI which is close to IL border and I recently graduated in dec 11. Because I have no prior lpn work experience my résumé only has my clinical rotations listed as experience. I think as a new grad with no experience, you have to start somewhere and that somewhere could mean the last pay. That's at least till u gain experience. So far I got 2 interviews. 1 offered starting pay at $17.69 and that was to work for the state of WI. I just had a interview yesterday and they offered me a job with starting pay of $18.50 hourly and weekend addtl pay of $1.00. I'm just waiting for the HR lady to call me back to okay a start date! I know it stinks to see such low pay when we really anticipate more pay but I'm content with what was offered to me. I hope you find something reasonable for you also.

I'm pregnant and have my 1st LPN Interview!!!! Ahh!
Hi Everyone... So I am 27 weeks pregnant and my due date is September 29th! I graduated from my LPN program in December 2011. Since I found out I was pregnant, I haven't been applying for jobs much- only a few here and there. I recently got a call from the Veterans Home in my state to go in for an interview! I really REALLy really have always wanted to work as a LPN in the VA! The sad part is I am soo excited abuot this interview and want to do my best to get this job- BUT I am afraid they will discriminate me and say "Oh we're sorry but you're not the best candidate for this position." Has Anyone here applied for a job as an LPn and got hired on while pregnant?? Know of anyone?? My situation seems hopeless. Yaya

How fast can I try the PVT Pop up trick??!?!?!
Thank you!! Oh my gosh.. I am now patiently and anxiously waiting for something official only... But the exam I took had tons of priority questions.. Only a few on meds and NONE on math medication calculations! Not having any math questions made me extremely nervous to think I didn't pass.. Thanks all for replying!

I've Failed The NCLEX 8 Times & Now I'm about To Take It 1 More Time...
If you weren't capable of passing- you wouldn't have gotten this far. Believe in yourself and focus on what you need to do to pass. Not studying wont help you because this is important! I wish you all the best of luck!

How fast can I try the PVT Pop up trick??!?!?!
Hi Friends... So I finished my NCLEX this morning at about 10:15am.. I came home about a good 30 mins later and was soo uneasy that I tried the Pop Up PVT trick.. And this is what it said: "records indicates you have recently registered for this test please contact Bon. An appointment can not be scheduled at this time." Is this right???!?! I mean-- would this be a good indicator-- even if an hour or two hasn't passed since I last took my exam?! Please please reply! I'm soo worried sick to my stomach..

NCLEX PN... preparing for it!!!
Hello, I'm starting to study for my nclex pn exam and it's really nerve racking!! I've learned a lot throughout the semester to get to where I am today. Now the ultimate goal is to pass nclex pn exam! I'm nervous, afraid, but determined... I hope that any of you who have taken this exam already or are going to take it, can share and open up on your thoughts and what helped you pass your first time. I've got Saunders, HESI's nclex guide, and even Exam Cram. I'm starting to review all subjects from Pharm to Fundamentals etc... and will be doing my questions on the cds.. Any suggestions, tips, or advice is greatly (big-heartedly!!) appreciated! I sometimes feel like I don't know where to start.. But I figured, since I've gotten myself this far-- starting to study from anywhere will do it. :icon_roll

HESI Exit exam, are scores really predictable of passing NCLEX?
Hi, I know this is an old post.. but.. I am wondering too about what you said. I passed my HESI exit, and though I know it has nothing to do with the NCLEX, my school instructors just stressed that the best way to study for the HESI was to study with the NCLEX materials.. And that was what I did. To study for the NCLEX, did you just use the Saunder's nclex book? And do the questions?

Milwaukee Area Technical College- Questions for LPNS and RNS
Hi, I go MATC and am graduating from the LPN program in about one week. My advice is, make sure your transcript records are clean. The board of instructors that select the students who petition look at how many dropped classes u have and why. If u drop a class, like say a&p because you flunked it, then you will get points deducted and so on. Your science course grades are a good predictor including your NLN PN entrance score! So study hard for that and get the study guide to help u do good. A minimal score of 100 is required, the higher the better! And when u r selected into the nursing program, stay focused! It was intense for me. Dont work if u can. I had to because I have a family and bills. But if I had a choice, I'd chosen to not work! :) Also, MATC now implemented the HESI tests into the program. It's muh different from ATI. I took it and passed, and it was a hard test. Study a lot and do questions from nclex Saunders book or HESI's nclex book. Hope this helped!

HESI for LPN
[/url]Dear Glenna, LPN, Thank you so much for your advice.. I'm so nervous and don't know what to expect. I'm just going to review all the stuff my classes taught me, and go over the Evolve review questions and PRAY that I'm smart enough to pass.. Sometimes its difficult because I don't feel like I see the light at the end of the tunnel. Again, Thank you so much for your insight. I hope I do fine this Friday too. :uhoh21:

HESI for LPN
Hi adawnl, I'm sorry, I wasn't sure if you wanted me to delete my post? Or if you were wondering how to delete your post? I think there should be an administrator on site that you could message/email?

HESI for LPN
Hi PN_wannabe, The App I downloaded was for the iPhone 4 and it is called Saunders NCLEX-PN, PN Vol. 1. I believe there are 2 different volumes. I decided to purchase volume 1 first because it made sense to do this one first. It was $29, if I remember correctly. It was worth every buck. I work and go to school so pulling out that huge Saunder's book is tough.. So my phone does just the job too. Its got the rationales too! Hope this helps you... But I'm taking the HESI this Friday.. OMG and I am SO NERVOUS! :uhoh21:

HESI for LPN
]Hi Everyone, I'm taking the HESI really soon as a final exit exam, I want to know if you could help me out! How did you do? Did you pass with an 850 or higher? What kinds of questions did the HESI have? Did you think they were difficult? I'm very nervous, and have been making time to do questions from Saunders. I recently downloaded an APP on my iPhone for this so I can at least practice in bed and at work! Any kind of tips, suggestions, and heads up would really be appreciated... PLEASE let me know how you did. :uhoh21:

Greatest Lpn to Lpn student advise you can give....
Wow, your words have all really encouraged me.. Thank you! I'm in my last semester and its getting tough, but I will continue to work hard. My advice is: Know that you'll have really bad days- just expect it. But You have to focus on what you want out of this path to being a nurse. Despite what Life throws at you, you have to persevere to get through.. That's what's keeping me going right now only. Although I feel like its a never-ending tunnel... I focus on seeing the light at the end of the tunnel-- and if I try hard enough with my all.. I think I see it.. so just strive. And believe in yourself. If other people can do this, so can you! :)
