  1. I am studying for this exam too! Mind if I join you guys? :)
  2. Good job! I scored a 64 on Test A and passed the actual test easily. You will do fine! :)
  3. Congratulations!!!! Just to pass is good but an A is AWESOME!!! I am taking Chronicity in a couple of days, I'll let you know how it goes ...
  4. :clpty::cheers::dancgrp::anpom::rckn::hpygrp::ancong!:
  5. Isn't that the best feeling ever?! I can't wait till I'm at least 1/2 way done with my tests. I totally wussed out and rescheduled Health Differences for next month. I am going to take Chronicity and Repro first - they seem like they will be easier for me. My goal is to be done with all the theory exams by March/April - fingers crossed!!!
  6. I just recently started with Excelsior and I really enjoy it thus far. I can study and prepare for exams on my own time and take them when I feel 100% ready. As far as tuition goes, financial aid is not offered for the undergraduate program. You can look up the specifics on the Excelsior website. I pay for everything out of pocket - the total amount you spend is waaaaaaaaaay cheaper than the tuition at a traditional nursing school. I think you need to figure out what learning style works best for you and if you have the self-discipline and motivation to go this route, then go for it! I was very "iffy" about Excelsior 4-5 months before I applied and I continuously read all the positive posts on this website and just decided to give it a try and I am VERY HAPPY I did :)
  7. So I have been studying for both Chronicity and Health Differences and I am registered to take HD on Thursday and Chronicity next week but I feel like HD is a little tougher and I should spend more time preparing for it. Did anyone else take Chronicity before Health Differences? I am thinking about pushing it back but don't know if it is just nerves ... I need some advice!!!!!
  8. Shirley - The practice tests are a must! Alot of the questions from the practice tests are on the actual test!!!!
  9. I really don't know anything about The College Network but from reading all the posts on this site, they dont sound very reputable. Is there anyway that you can cancel or did you sign some sort of contract? Personally, I think Excelsior's study guides and practice tests are EXCELLENT study tools. I just took my first exam and passed! I think you should enroll with Excelsior if you can?!
  10. Which test did you think was easier out of Chronicity and Health Differences? Also, Why was LS2 so hard? Alot of content?
  11. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! What test are taking next?:clpty:
  12. Thanks Kel, it was pretty cut and dry. I have a feeling, the rest are going to be alot harder!!!
  13. I just took H/S and didnt use a book to study. Purchase the Excelsior practice test, alot of those questions show up on the actual test. Also, I bought the SG101 notes and did their practice questions/tests. It is a pretty cut and dry test, you will do fine! :)
  14. GOOD LUCK - You will do fine! Also, remember a baby should be holding their head up by 6 months ( if not, there is a developmental problem) - Another question I just remembered
  15. Way to go!!!! :yelclap: What order are you taking the exams?
  16. I did every single SG101 practice quiz and test SG101 offered for this section and then did the excelsior practice test ... didn't open my book at all. There were alot of nursing process and therapeutic communication questions which I thought were fairly simple. "How would you respond therapeutically to a patient that says .... " or "Which response needs further teaching?" Oh and I almost forgot, alot of the excelsior practice test questions show up on the actual test - which is good! I didnt really look over drugs and there were a few questions about trough, peak level, absorption, etc. and those kinda frustrated me - I took pharmacology but I couldn't remember the exact definitions so I would definitely suggest looking those up. Also, know the differences between side effect, toxic effect, adverse effect, idosyncrinatic effect, etc. (2-3 questions) Ummmm, other than that, I had a couple really simple calculations, alot of subjective and objective data ... "Out of the examples listed below, which one is an example of objective data?" and that is basically it. Definitely don't stress out over it, it really is not that bad. I am not a good test taker and I did fine! GOOD LUCK!!!!!
  17. I was so nervous, I almost threw up right before but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. What do you recommend I take next? Chronicity or Repro? Which one is easier?
  18. I just took my first test today - health safety and PASSED!!! :)
