  1. Congrats! Came to the board looking for hope, and found some in your post. I failed twice, taking it a 3rd time in Dec
  2. You instantly become best friends with any male nurse in the hospital.
  3. Nike Air Max 20-whatever year it is. I buy them with the coupon at finishline, usually snag them for around $90-100 (full price is $180).
  4. How did it go? One thing I learned the hard way, taking the spike out of the IV bag while it was still hangnign semi-full and having NS go all over the floor.
  5. I worked at a bank 20 hours a week. Although they were not in the nursing field, I got full medical & dental insurance, paid tuition (FYI banks employee RN's in their insurance departments), and 3 weeks paid vacation. They worked around my schedule and made it super easy.
  6. First thing I'm going to buy is a new Nissan Z. I currently have a 2006, and the new redesign will come out right around my graduation date. -Ryan C/O 2013
  7. I know it's late in the game, but any guys out there I just found all white shoes for us. I know there's not many options out there for us.... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0059D56XY/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details
  8. I just received my acceptance letter! I can't wait to meet all you guys in January! For all the other alternates out there, I attended the meeting today and I was 3rd on the list.
  9. Just got the alternates info session email. I'm curious how many of us are out there...
  10. GPA was 3.56, all classes completed as of June. I hope it works out and I get it. This is a career change, and at 28 I can't afford to wait to much longer.
  11. You were an alternate right? Did they email you acceptance letters? Starting to freak a little bit... Especially after my back up plan of Ptec canceled there Jan start dates
  12. 3.56, Selected as an alternate . Good luck to everyone
  13. Ask Ashley- Do you know what the cut off was for fall semester?
  14. I applied for the Spring 2012 program as well. I have not received an email, but the money was taken out of my account already so I know they have it. I turned in my application packet the 3rd week of May. Good luck to everyone!
  15. When I went to the seminar there was well over 200 people there don't be discouraged by that. You have to remember its a pool of people for 2 campuses and I'm sure a majority of them will see the costs and not apply. I'm not sure if you took version 4 or 5 of the TEAS, but have you thought about taking it a second time to try and improve your score? Which campus are you applying to?
  16. I got on with an 89% on the TEAS and having CPR experience. Two of my friends got in with a 77% on the TEAS and nothing else. I think the key is having a high TEAS score (I had an 89% I tested into the 96th percentile for pTEC and 82nd percentile nationwide. ), and your application complete. If your application packet is incomplete I believe you get removed from the pool of candidates. Hope this helps you. (The TEAS test I'm referring to is the version 4.0)
  17. I started the Clearwater program in Jan 2011 with 40ish students. I know the average person had a TEAS in the mid 70's.
  18. Congratulations! I'm finishing up Microbiology in about a week and applying for Fall semester at USF. Just curious what your gpa was to get in? Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
  19. Has anyone attended the University of Iowa's nursing program? How are the teachers, classes, admissions, etc... Any info would be appreciated.
  20. I was weighing the same decision as well. After asking around, I found that people respected both programs and choose Ptech because of the cost. Plus I liked the fact I could work as an LPN while I do my RN bridge program. I actually start the program tomorrow so I can let you know the makeup of the class.
  21. I like the Skechers cargo pant scrubs. They have a lot of pockets, and are super soft.

I agree with NC1990 above about the Earth Science part. I took mine about a month ago, but did not study for it. It really wasn't bad if you've taken a majority of your prereq classes (AP 1&2, Stats, Micro). My best advice to you is study up on ratios, metric conversions, add/subtract/multiplication/division of fractions, and know how to use the Table of Elements to determine the charge and makeup of ionic bonds. My biggest weak spots were Life Science, and Sentence structure (40% & 57%). The Sentence structure gave your 4 choices on how the sentence should properly be written and I'm not an English major. Science 80% Reading 95% English 85% Math 80%
  23. Does anyone know where to find an all white pair of Nike Shox? I'm entering Nursing School in January and cannot find them anywhere! -Ryan
