I went to Chancellor's in Indiana. Small classroom, 5 days of CPNE prep, And lots of hand on. Sherri is wonderful also, all I hear are people passing from her. Many people use her online only and pass first time round no problem. EC wants you to go there but from what I heard the classes are huge and the student is left still confused. I never went that way so I'm limited with information. No matter what we do, we get out of it by how much we put in to it. For me nerves are the toughest part to overcome.

@ Loops, so happy for everyone who passed! I feel better than I did last year. I get my first time failing, my second no. I know the test is subjective. But in order to do a skills lab test, the supplies are to readily available which I didn't have. Well I know to check everything before the clock ticks. Lesson learned though it's an expensive lesson. I'm ready to finish:)@ineverseeyou, I will be doing that as well. I will pass it this time, and you will pass too!

I took Chancellors, they were wonderful! It was a hands on site. I am going to take Sherri's online program. I think I more concerned with the careplans, especially since the changes from the 17th edition. I thought the FCCA was rather simple, hogh I don't know what its like since it went to computers. I am sure yu will be great. Sherri is wonderful too!!!

I took the test the first time and failed one year ago today. I took it again, failed(very subjective), and now I am going to start from scratch to pass this test. I am ready to begin, l know all that is stopping me from being an RN is a weekend of testing.(ok, a very hard weekend of testing,) ..I am wondering if there are others in my shoes, retesting? Is there anyone out there who passed after retesting, where you tested and the difference of passing and failing. Any advise is helpful. Thank you very much!!!

I am retaking the cpne in two weeks back in Utica!! Oct7-9th, at least its still the 17th edition:)

Hi, I took the EC nursing tests and passed them all. I took cpne and failed that. I am retesting in two weeks. My question is what are you using to study? I took a test every 3 weeks to 4 weeks. I used Chancellors study guides and my med surg book from LPN school,with the study guide from EC. It helps to go over the anatomy and physiology,especially with repro and LS series. Also, Saunders NCLEX-RN Comprehensive Review Book was a huge help in passing for the LS1,2 and 3. LS1 and 2 were hard,I have no idea how I passed LS2, LS3 wasn't bad for me. Some people did well with LS2 and LS3 was bad. These tests are so hard. Maybe you are overthinking the questions. Try to go with your first instinct. Its just a thought. The practice tests with Excelsior are invaluable. I would read over what I got wrong as well as what I got right. Many times questions are on the real test but maybe worded different. Hope this helps:)

My wound, I passed my first pcs butthe lab got me. Anyway I am retaking it October 7-9 in Utica again. I was scheduled for Albany but there was a cancellation, so Evelyn from NPAC called me. She knew I wanted to go back to Utica. I hope everything is going well for you!!!:) Oh so the others know Patricia and I went to Chancellors the same week, the other student did pass. She started studying after she went to the carelab and passed, first try:)

Many people took any med surg(I used my LPN medsurg book) book, and my main source of study was the Saunders NCLEX RN Comprehensive Review Examination Book. I know there are people on here that only used that and passed without any problems.It has an excellent review and questions at the end to answer with. I also had Chancellors Studyguides as well.

Dslpninla, Thank you for your kind words, but really you were my lifesaver when I was in Utica!! You overcame so much over the weekend,especially all that extra stress from Irene you could of done without.Well come Oct 7-9, keep your phone close by again!!! hahaha Congratulations!!!!!!!!

Thank you Beachnurse and Dslpninla!! Well,Dsl knows well how I have been feeling. I was so sad, miserable, sheer disgusted and today I am told angry,lol!! I am too!When you don't pass,so many emotions run through you. Yesterday, my world fell down, today, brush it off, and tomorrow hopefully I can retest asap.

I passed, I did very well first one, second one was very confusing. I think i would of done better but I had trouble typing my essay in the box, you can't see entire paragraph at a time. There is only a couple lines you see at a time that you type. Most people get A's and B's on it. English isn't my strong point. I just looked at the study guide on it and took the test. I got a few mentors for help on approach on the content, that was it. It's very doable, and I am sure you will pass it no problem!!! I recommend this way for English:)

letting everyone know I failed -the wound station. First time I had too much red in the wound. This wound was much deeper than I worked with, the second time it was with my gloves, told I broke sterlie technique even though my wound was covered. On the whole the test is very doable, nerves are very hard when you first get there. So disgusted at the moment. I need to thank everyone for being so supportive, a special thank you to Dslpninla. My gps charger broke, and she gave me directions from LA on the phone to get me to Walmart in UTICA for a new phone charger, this was Friday after sims lab was over,also for being so wonderful through everything. I passed pcs number #1, pcs#2 i failed for apical hrart rate, I got 72, ce got 82. The thing is very thready and irregular. I counted, I circled the wrong one I guess. It would of been ok, because pcs#1, WAS peds sub I passed, PCS #2 was adult,I knew I would pass it next time. Very subjective. The aoc and assessments I didn't find difficult. The ce on #1 said I understood what to do well, the pcs#2 ce said I had a good bedside manner and did tell CA that. The CA told me she knows I could pass it. She probably tells everyone that thou. The CE's are nice. Some are nicer than others. With apical the ce said it was hard to get apical with her very irregular heartrate. I counted and gave exactly what I heard. More upset with wound station,obviously because that's what sent me home. Good luck everyone:)

Packing things up and getting ready for my weekend adventure. I feel prepared, but not overly confident. I know my critical elements, if I don't by now, I am in some serious trouble! hahaha!! Earlier this past week I felt sickening nervous but now that its time to get in gear, ! feel actually kind of calm and ready. I feel nervous mind you, but I think its good nervous. I hope I stay this way!!!! I am so ready to get this over with.
