  1. Im from South Ga too and work at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton. They have lots of benefits and pay start at 13.00 an hour plus you can get a nice sign on bonus! It is a fabulous place to work . I have been there for 6 mths now and I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! April
  2. Is there an amount that Diprivan can only be given up to? There was a PT in ICu and she was on 50cc/hr, she was fully awake! I thought this was alot and she should have been comfortable. Thanks April

  4. My instructor gave us a list yesterday and ssaid to know by Wed. The list is : Meth Eth Prop But Pent Hex Hept Oct Non Dec and then: Ane Ene Yne Andl Anal Anone Anoic acid Yl amine I do not have any idea what this pertains to and he did not tell us. Byu the way, there is no written book this class is lecture only! So i need some help April
  5. I wanted to assure everyone that posted that I was with my preceptor all the time. There is no way they expected me to handle this by myself. I learned alot the 2 days I had this pt. She did develope a hematoma under the balloon insertion site and we had to pull it. She was non-responsive to any stimuli, she was down too long before she came into the hospital.   6. I am new to the hospital im at in the ICU. I am also a LPN. I have been a nurse for one in a LTC facility. Our preceptor program is for 3 ENTIRE months and if your not ready they give you more time. IT is WONDERFUL! Thanks for post to always remember SLOW down and do it right the first time! APril
  7. I have a patient that will be on na balloon pump and I really dont know that much about them. I aam a new nurse in an ICU and want to know alittle about what to expect. Does anyone know of a website that I can go to for information?
  8. I love my job. I have been nursing at the hospital I am at since January. I am a new nurse graduated last August and passed boards. I work at a small rural hospital and I work in the ICU and stepdown unit. I also work ER, OB and Med-Surg. I like to learn and I float someimtes to other areas. I would not change anything about my job...I miss not being there when Im at home. It is wonderful! My co-workers are the best! :balloons: I also get to do everything an RN does in my hospital, so I have learned alot. Good LUCK! April

  10. I always get asked also to go to other floors to start these IVs when other nurses cant get them.. i just have a knack forthem i guess. I was wondering about IV therapr such as PICC lines or anything like that. Do you have to becertified or what/

  12. Im from georrgia and been a nurse since last june. The only advise I can give is to jump in there and be willing to learn and dont hesitate to answer questions. Also, I cna hang blood, push any meds nd I work in the ICU, stepdown unit and still get paid way less than a RN. APril

  14. Has aanyone taken any of the test set up through excelsior college at one of the sylvan learning centers? PLease tell me how it was...how many questions, was it that hard or what to expect. THanks so much April

  16. You can get results....My friend took her test on Friday and got here results Sunday!! i passed mine as well with 85 questions....I just knew I had fail but i didnt adn you wont either.......Congrats to the future LPN
  17. I also did the saunders up until one week before I went to take my boards! I let the last week be a week on enjoyment. I also only got 60 to 70 percent on the quizzzes. But, i passed my test two weeks ago with only 85 questions! So, I think you will do fine. GOOD LUCK! Saunders is the best to study from in my opinion.

  19. I took the NCLEX-PN Saturday and was so scared and thought for sure I had failed. I cried all weekend.....I checked the computer and I had passed..I was so excited, you would ahve thought I had won lottery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!So, My computer stopped at 85 questions, I was so surprised! Well, wanted to let everyone know I am now an official LPN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Hey! I took my test on Saturday and it shut off at 85 questions and I just knew that I had fail. But, this morning i checked the computer and I had passed....So good luck to you......
  21. I dont know if I should be excited or scared to death. I am taking the nclex-pn.! I got my letter today and signed up to take the test. I dont know if it is worng to be so excted....How did everyone else feel about it!?
  22. THANKS! It really helped, except for knowing what size needle to use for subq heparin.......is it 25-28gauge
  23. :crying2: I am in school and need to know what size needle is used for Heparin subq? Also, what route has the slowest absorption rate? IV, IM, Intradermal or subq?
