  1. I have been a new grad since last October. I have put in over 265 applications and have only been called to one interview. I have ACLS, PALS and in the BSN program. All told me I need experience. We live in Miami Fl, and I have applied to every hospital. Many do the Versant Residency program and they want you to contract out years with them. Good luck! I finally got a position with Mollen Immunization Clinics just to get some experience.
  2. I moved to Florida a year ago. Got my license in October and have applied to over 224 jobs. Yes I have been keeping track. I today just got an interview this week. I was not to lucky the last 8 months. Not one call back. Every email rejection letter stated they wanted one year of RN licensed experience.
  3. I have been searching since October and haven't even gotten a call back. Graduated nurses with no experience are not finding jobs. I got told numerous times to come back in a year when I had experience.
  4. I graduated with my ADN in NY and moved down here last June. Got my license in October of 2010. I have not gotten one phone call for an interview. I have applied to over 96 jobs and not one call back. I have 2 great written recommendations from my professor and clinical instructor and still nothing. My overall GPA is a 3.25. Still, nothing, just the same generic reply messages, or the "sorry we only hire from our scholarship programs". I have since started my BSN this past January only because it was my only option. I hope by the time that you do come down here to the Miami area that things will get better and you will find employment. At least that is my hope.
  5. Not here in South Florida. I have been unemployed since October. All the hospitals down here want experience. It's hit or miss if you get something. I would apply first and wait till your offered employment before you move all the way down here. Since you live in the city, have you looked into Albany? I am from there and they are hiring new Grads.
  6. I can tell you that I just applied to them in November and the response I got back was they are only hiring their Memorial Healthcare Scholarship recipients only. They are not hiring any new graduate nurses outside of their scholarships.
