  1. Someone called me & I did a phone interview..I was told all positions will start in July. I can't remember the exact date but I believe it was the 15th.
  2. How are you liking San Antonio & your job? I'm thinking about attending Methodist's meet & greet on Friday.
  3. Go to memorialhermann.org & search careers. If you type in "new grad" all of the positions will come up. You can apply for a maximum of 5 positions.
  4. I agree! From the people I know that are currently with Harris Health, they have nothing but positive things to say. I hope we all at least get granted an interview. When everyone starts getting calls/emails please update us! Good luck!!
  5. My thoughts exactly when I got that email. Lol Your job is out there! When anyone hears any good news please let us know.
  6. Is everyone that applied attending the Information session tomorrow? If so i'll see you there!
  7. Don't believe there is a gpa requirement nor do you need to submit anything besides a resume along with the application. If you have reference letters it wouldn't hurt to attach as well or bring with you once called for an interview.
  8. That sounds about right. I was told they would probably be hiring 30-40 people and for the summer about the same & possibly more depending on unit needs. For those who have yet to receive a call make sure you apply for the other clinical nurse residency that states "april/may graduates". I know someone who never got a call from HR after her 1st app but applied again for the summer & got a HR interview then. By time she got called for the panel interview (3-4 wks later) she had already accepted a position at another hospital. It may take longer than you'd like but keep trying!
  9. Honestly, your chances are pretty good especially if you had a good interview. My panel interview was not great but it wasn't terrible. I had a brain freeze when the last panelist asked questions. I was so focused on all the writing he was doing I lost my train of thought, lol I felt those few moments killed me & I barely completed my response. After that it ended on a better note with their responses to my questions but I wasn't sure if it was enough to overcome my temporary memory lapse. For those waiting for a call back for the panel interview or if its already scheduled, just be sharp & practice answering questions. All questions I was asked were similar to the HR interview. At this point you can't afford any slip ups like I had. Yes, they are hiring a good # of new grads but just think how many applicants they have. Good luck to you all & update us if you do or don't get offered a position.
  10. A few of my former classmates started the GN program in Jan & they all love it so far. Staff is supporting and everyone seems to have great preceptors. I don't know anyone at LBJ but I'm sure all locations offer each other the same support. My classmates are at Ben Taub & Quentin Mease.
  11. The information session is March 16th @9am. You must apply and get the invite to RSVP to attend. I believe I received it within 2-3 days of applying. The info session is just as it sounds. They will be talking about the the program & various placement options. They will be collecting all supporting documents such as resume, transcripts, letters of recommendation, & exit exam scores.
  12. Congrats to those who have panel interviews this week. Sometimes it only takes days to get a call back & sometimes it takes weeks. If you haven't heard anything yet don't give up. Until you have actually been told you didn't get the job keep calling & being persistent. Good luck to all!!
  13. Congrats!! That is great news!! I hope somebody from this thread gets offered a position, lol Good luck..keep us posted.
  14. I was informed via email today that I am not being offered a position for the spring residency. Good luck to the rest of you guys & hope you get calls for interviews!
  15. Thanks for the update! I figured interviews would be ongoing since they have multiple start dates. Fingers crossed for us all to get calls!!
  16. It's ok to feel slightly confused, change majors, or obtain a nursing degree after you get the sociology degree. My 1st degree is in Business Administration and after working awhile I decided to go to nursing school. I just recently graduated from a 2nd degree BSN program & look forward to starting my new career. Look into programs in your area & go for it! Good luck!!
  17. If you find out anything please let us know. From what I've heard from some employees & from reading previous posts the process just takes awhile. If I hear anything I will definitely post the info. Until I get a rejection email I am keeping faith alive! Lol
  18. I have a BSN..not sure about any of the other applicants for this cohort but I know someone that currently works there that went thru the residency program 2 yrs ago who was hired with only an ADN. She did the RN-BSN program at my school & we graduated in Dec '12. I think now they are requiring those with an ADN to get a BSN within 3yrs of hire.
  19. Congratulations!! Good luck to you
  20. I have heard similar stories from previous applicants. From what a few current employees have said, the application process is slowly improving. From application submission to receiving an interview appears to be happening in a few days to a few weeks. It's the waiting game after the interviews that seems to take the most time. Everyone keep your fingers crossed & have faith :)
  21. Congrats on getting a job! When 1 door closes, another 1 opens. I had my 1st peer interview last Thursday & am waiting to hear back but still applying & interviewing other places. Good luck to you!
  22. Thanks! I'm praying I get it to but if it's meant to be it'll be. I would stay persistent in contacting HR. Hope you guys get call backs soon!
  23. Honestly, I couldn't really tell. It wasn't great but wasn't terrible. I wasn't nervous until I got there, lol There were 4 people & they all asked a couple questions but they spent the majority of the time writing & would occasionally look up, smile, & nod as I was talking. I made it this far so I am praying I will get offered a position. Since the job posting is still open I'm sure they are still seeking candidates. There were a few people that interviewed before me & there were 3 more listed after me when I glanced at the list when I checked in to HR. I am pretty sure applicants are still being called for interviews. Start dates are March 11th & 25th also April 8th & 22nd. I was asked about any areas of interest & shift preference & was told they try to match up preferences if positions are available there. Needs are still being assessed everywhere so they could not give me specific details as to the number of people going to be hired & which units are available.
  24. Anyone get a call back yet? I had panel interview today & not really sure how it went but gonna keep my fingers crossed.
