  1. I am a 2nd year nursing student in an associates program with only 9 months until graduation. I got hired as a nurse extern at the largest hospital in my area..I make a lot less than the CNA's and PCT's at the hospital and I do the same thing as them. You can do the job, I promise. :)
  2. Just because one person is bitter doesn't mean it's a bad school.
  3. I'm sorry you had such a horrible experience.. But honestly I love going to ITT. Everyone at the school where I go genuinely care about the students. I have no overnight or weekend clinicals and they are done at prestigious hospitals in my area. A few people in my class have already been told that they will be hired by those hospitals after we graduate. It is expensive, but it's nobody's business how much I pay for my education. I think whichever school you attended is just a bad egg of the group.
  4. Our clinicals are also pass/fail..ours will round from 79.5 also.
  5. I was just wondering because the other schools in my area are 76%. I think 80% is fair, nursing is not supposed to be easy.
  6. My school just changed from the passing grade being a 70% to an 80%..what is the passing score for your schools?
  7. I haven't found anything that fits me the right way either! I'm 5 ft 1/2 inch and I just got my clinical scrub pants (small petite) and I STILL have to roll them up! I wish they thought of us shorties too! :)
  8. I go to ITT Tech in Huntington, WV. I am starting 4th qtr in 2 weeks.
  9. Hey. I go to ITT Tech in WV (Breckinridge) The name wasn't changed completley, it was changed to Breckinridge School of Nursing @ ITT. The reason being that we need to be seperate from the rest of the schools @ ITT (because te nursing program isnt JUST a technical program and it has different requirements and rules than the rest of the programs.) Breckinridge was a nursing pioneer from KY.
  10. In my school, we go 9 months before we go to clinical. I start in September and I have already had both of my fundamentals classes, pharm, a&p1-2, and have learned all basic skills (foleys, iv's, injections, wound care, med pass, etc) and I feel much more confident than having to learn everything in a few weeks and not being able to do anything :) I'm so glad I get to do more than assessments..blah.
  11. This isn't my first semester, because we go by quarters, but I start clinical in my 4th qtr (september) and we go Thursday eve to do our assessments, get our pt, etc..then go friday from 8a-5p!
  12. I go to ITT Tech in WV..it is expensive, but worth it. Of course there are no NCLEX to report, like you said, it's new :) I am getting ready to start my 3rd quarter and I have already learned so much. It's a great program!
  13. Izzy- I go every day but thursday..I am 5 feet tall, brown hair with highlights and usually always with my husband or a blonde lady.. I'm sure we've seen each other lol!
  14. Why are people on here that don't go to/hasn't gone to ITT? Okay, we know we go to a for-profit school..there's no need to get on here and argue about it in the space that could be used for us to talk about our school...please stop :)
  15. Why do people say ITT is "the easy way out?" ITT IS NOT EASY! Believe me!
  16. Why would anyone who doesn't go to or isn't interested in going to ITT Tech even be ON this site to put us down?
  17. Sorry I didn't reply, I just now got on here! Today is the only day that I don't have class and WOW..2nd qtr is a beast compared to 1st qtr! Take the time that you have now because you won't have it in 2nd qtr lol!
  18. I am getting ready to start my second qtr. now! Which qtr. are you in KristeyK?
  19. I am glad we have 6 months to prepare! They just want us to know everything we can possibly know before we go in.
  20. MsAshley is right, they do accept pre-reqs and that helps alot.
  21. Yeah, anyone who is going to go there for RN better be prepared for some people questioning them...but believe me, nobody will know how great the program is until they are in it. I love it there..it can get stressful because it seems like we are always getting tested, but I would assume any nursing school would be that way. I have told a lot of people where I am going, and I would say most of them are just suprised to know that ITT has a nursing school, and they usually respond by saying "thats awesome" or something along those lines. Dont worry about anyone but yourself and I'm sure you'll do great.
  22. The books make it look intimidating, but we don't use those everyday. I just now took my last nursing test! It will be fine, I promise.
  23. It just depends. In the 1st quarter we don't have to wear scrubs. In the second quarter we have to wear scrubs one day a week, during lab. The ones we wear during lab can be anything, just as long as they're clean and appropriate. In the 4th quarter we start clinicals, and we have to buy the specific ones then. They are navy pants, a white scrub top and lab coat. So basically from the 2nd quarter on we have to wear scrubs.
  24. I'm not a mean person but there are really some scary people there. We were talking amongst ourselves in the hall one day and this guy walks up and yells out a curse word and starts talking about what we were talking about. I was really freaked out..but it's okay, all of the classes are with nursing students and nobody in the program is scary :)
  25. Congrats! Everything is going well..we are getting close to the end of our first quarter. The nursing class is getting more difficult..but I guess that's to be expected. I'm still loving it there except for the other people who go there for other things, those people can be scary. Oh well, I guess we can't just make it all nursing! Let me know if you get in Izzy, I've heard that it is getting really popular and competitive but I'm sure with a 91% you will do fine...and if not this time then there's always June! :)
