  1. I'm going to be starting in August!
  2. I endorsed after I was hired. I'm definitely not loving Dallas but I'm getting great ER experience so I'm trying to keep positive knowing it'll help me find a job in San Diego jn a year or two.
  3. Parkland hospital in Dallas TX hires ADN nurses for ER, OR and ICU. They have residency positions about every 3 months and there's no time limit cutoff for how long you've been out of school.
  4. I graduated May 2013 in San Diego and started my first job in Feb 2014. I finally had to look out of state and relocate to Dallas TX. I have my ADN with ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NIHSS. I lost count of how many jobs I applied to in CA.
  5. About half the residency will end up on days and half nights so there's a definite chance of getting what you want!
  6. I searched for around 9 months with no luck. Finally looked out of state and got an ER job in Texas. I'm hoping I can find a job in San Diego once I get my experience. If it's possible consider moving to gain experience.
  7. I just got my TX license endorsed from CA. It took just over 2 months to get my permanent license issued.
  8. I'm currently finishing my second semester at CSUDH. It has taken some getting used to doing all my work online. Overall I've had a good experience but will be transferring schools next semester. At CSUDH you have to take 3 clinical classes and you are in charge of securing your own clinical placement. As I have moved to Texas and there are NO places here with affiliations to the school it has been too difficult and I've been unable to set anything up. If I still lived in CA I'm pretty sure I'd go ahead and finish the program. You also come out with a public health certificate.
  9. It's a mix of classroom and clinical. The first 3 weeks are class followed by 3 weeks on the floor (12 hr shifts), one week class, 3 weeks floor..... There are tests given on what we are presented in class concerning critical care. There are some additional shifts where you get your ACLS and TNCC. You are also required to sign a contract, mine in ER is for 3 years, not sure if it is different on other floors. So far it's been a great learning experience.
  10. Yes, I was interviewed by 4 people.
  11. I'm currently in the ER residency and didn't interview until about month and a half before the start date. I had a one week notice before the interview, just to give you all a time frame :) Good luck!
  12. I'm ADN working on my BSN. 1 year CNA experience. I found my apartment online and just signed my lease. It's in Lakewood through power properties. It was tough since I really don't know the area.
  13. I used the online form.
  14. I'm moving from California to work in the ER. I applied for my temporary on the 6th and have only received a generic letter in the mail stating the next steps for a permanent license.
  15. Thanks, I'll check them out!
  16. My name is Beth! I'm moving from San Diego and super excited to meet you all, start my career and check out Dallas more! Any suggestions on good apartments to rent? Congrats to all who got offers!
  17. I got an offer for the ER today too!
  18. Thanks :) Plane tickets are expensive so I was hoping it was just one. Any idea how many ER positions open vs. how many interviews?
  19. I got an interview for ED too! Looking for plane tickets now. Do they hire after one interview or do you have to complete a second interview too?
  20. Nothing at all...
  21. Any calls yet today?
  22. I have an ADN too but currently enrolled in my RN-BSN.
  23. I think my interview went well but so glad its over! I interviewed with a panel of 4. Hopefully at least one of them liked me! :) I think last time around they started making calls after about a week with the final calls for alternates and the no thank you emails the second week. Super antsy waiting! Good luck to everyone that interviewed!
  24. I have my ADN but I'm currently in an RN-BSN program. 1 year experience as a CNA.
  25. Got my email! I interview on the 14th!
