I called HR and they said they're reviewing the apps still. Calls for interviews will go out in July

Just wondering.. I got an email today that my application is 'moving along' to managers who will the select for interviews. Does everyone who meets the requirements get this email? Thanks!

Just wanted to answer a couple of questions since I'm currently in the SFSU/Canada/Sequoia program. Yes, we are required to sign the agreement to work at Sequoia, but they told us at orientation that since the first two cohorts, Sequoia hasn't really been hiring. In fact, there's a hiring freeze there currently. So it's really just a formality! Also, @ParkJB, I feel like if you go over the book and have a pretty good grasp on it, the drug calculation really isn't that bad. I'm not sure whether you need to turn in the practice problems, but at our program (Sequoia), we did not. You should have a working knowledge of A&P, although you aren't in any danger if you have forgotten it (like me). It just helps since most of the theory classes build off of that basic knowledge. Not sure what is in the "nurse pack," but I literally bought everything on Amazon (stethoscope, BP cuff, etc.). I just read reviews to see what people preferred, but if you need a suggestion, I invested in the Littman Cardio III stethoscope and I haven't regretted it.

The book bundle from the bookstore (all new books) is a good deal if you want the ebook versions of the books, since it comes with it. This allows you to access the textbooks through your ipad/laptop/computer. I know some people paired up and split the bundle, where someone would take the physical books and the other one just used the ebooks. It really depends on it. However, I think if you don't need ebooks or NEW textbooks, the best deal as always is just to buy them used on half.com or amazon. That was the case for me.. I think I saved at least $100 off the bookstore prices!

Just received my acceptance to the SM cohort for this spring through email. Just a heads-up!

The admissions office keeps referring me to another counselor, CA, who is supposedly in charge of the applications in EB's absence. However, I reached her and she told me she didn't know anything. She said to try back next week when she may know more. Womp womp.

Technically those who have been rejected haven't heard either officially, so couldn't they also be left?

Vickan, why do you think that it's only waitlisted people left? Just wondering... I've been waiting for a response to both emails and voicemails. Bah!

Are there any others still waiting on a decision? I'm wondering if there's anyway to reach EB or any of the counselors to get ANY kind of news?

I called the counselor for our program (EB) about a week ago. She said the standard "mid-to-late June," and I asked if there was any chance that it'd be earlier. She said maybe, but they wouldn't tell us because "everyone gets agitated" if they deviate from the standard reply. I'm reallyy hoping for this week!

I think the standard answer is "mid to late June," but I was looking at last year's forum and they heard in the first week of June. I'm hoping it's sooner rather than later!

I figured it was about time for a thread for this cohort, especially as we're getting close to hear back for the Nov. 2011 SF cohort. Did anyone else apply this cycle?

I definitely would call and check. None of my transcripts were checked off on Albert or processed, even though they had them. It helps to pursue it a bit. (:

I talked to one of counselors who told me they go out on Friday. She sounded very confident of it, but it's hard to know for sure. Either way, we will find out tomorrow or on Monday for the first round.

OH. and another thing Maggie added was that she said the March 1 Priority deadline pretty much meant nothing other than possiblyyy getting your decision a little faster. We've been stressing over that for nothing.

Maggie made it sound like the first batch of acceptances going out are those who have already been reviewed. Since I was calling about the progress of mine, mine hasn't been reviewed yet so I won't be hearing by Friday. So it's not a bad thing if you don't hear early on--it's just chance on whether your app has been put together yet, etc.

Congrats, GGBRN! So glad that good news is getting out! (: I just spoke to Maggie (she oversees the nursing app process), and she said the first round of acceptances are being sent out via email this Friday. The following rounds of acceptances will be sent out in batches in the following weeks.

I was hoping to hear today/this week so I called. Although every counselor I talked to before told me that Albert was not updated and not to worry that none of my boxes were checked off, today the counselor actually looked up my file and said that they hadn't processed my transcripts fully and that one hadn't been even found in all the mail they're still processing. :/ She assured me that the timing of your application wouldn't affect the chance of getting in. But it looks like whether you hear very soon will depend on whether they found all your materials and processed them yet. But I hope it's really soon...
