  1. I, personally, what like to be more proficient at ortho maneuvers, since musculoskeletal pain comprises a large portion of what is seen in the clinic but I’m in my next to last semester and from what I’ve seen in clinic, insurance basically forces you to start with an xray regardless of what you believe the issue to be.
  2. Email me at [email protected]. Allnurses said I'm not active enough to send a pm. Weird.
  3. It just depends on what the application asks. If it says have you even been convicted of any misdemeanor or felony charges, then no, don't report it. Anyone can falsely be arrested for anything. Trust me, I know. I too am from Alabama and have the same charges that you did. Mine were also thrown out because they were FALSE! When I was hired on with the hospital, it was never mentioned by them. Also, from the school's background checks, it was never brought up. I am glad to read your post because I just completed my application to AL BON and submitted my Case Action Summary/Disposition. I've been so worried that it was going to delay me getting my temporary or being able to sit for boards, as I have a job lined up that wants me in orientation asap. My advice is to let them to the background check. If it comes up, address it. Let them know the charges did not stand against you. If you have to answer some type of questionnaire before the background check, then answer it honestly. But it sounds like you've already completed general employment applications since you've had interviews.
  4. Main Menu - NCLEX-RN 3500 - Institutional Version This link has the same ?'s as 4000. EXTREMELY helpful. I have the Saunder's 5th edition cd & I like this link much more.
  5. I always say a prayer once I'm in my testing seat. I pray for a clear head & clear thinking. It is so easy to get frazzled if you hit a question that throws you off. I've noticed that if I get hung up on one question, I start to get antsy and feel like I'm going to blow the whole test; my mind starts spouting in a million different directions. So each time that happens, I take my attention away from the test momentarily, clear my head and the stress over the question and regain my composure by realizing that it's just one question... When you place yourself above the test go ahead and refocus on your test, reread the question and pick the best answer that you can. Composure is key! I feel that this has contributed to my success with tests. And most importantly, don't forget to apply basic nursing principles to the question... ABCs, Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, Safety is always first, Nursing Process and answering the question that is being asked. One last little thing that helps me sometimes is to read the last sentence of the question first, to see what the question is asking for. It helps me to pick through the fluff of the question, and it also helps me to feel like I have a one up on the question by reading that first, then going into the usually detailed scenario the question presents. Good luck & remember... Take the test, don't let it take you
  6. I'm taking my patient, loving and supportive family on a Disney cruise :)
  7. You may not be able to get over that feeling until a little bit closer to graduation. Nursing school is hard, demanding, tolling, tiring, stressful, frustrating, tedious, etc, etc, etc....... I think your feelings are completely normal. Just think of it as boot camp! Nobody likes the process, but just keep remembering that the results are going to be worth it for you and those 3 angels. Keep pressing on! Your goal is almost here!!!! Remember to just hold your head high. You will have really done something when you can say, I graduated nursing school and I'm a nurse! Good luck!
  8. I agree that what she did was totally DUMB! I mean, let's use a little common sense here. I just read that she and the other students took their case in front of a judge and were able to be reinstated into their programs. Future (potential) employers googling her name will get a big surprise! I just started nursing school last week. I've waited almost ten years to do this! I used to get on Facebook all the time, but I decided to delete it... Just to minimize pointless distractions. Not that I'd ever upload pics of organs!!! LOL
