  1. Hi :) Well, the title says it all. I'm moving down from Canada in a week and provided my license is processed in time, I will be starting work June 28th at the Nebraska Medical Center. Just wondering if any nurses around here work there, and if so...
  2. Where do I start to become a school nurse?

ha, you aren't perhaps from Newfoundland are you? That's the way it is there, where I'm from. You could always do what I did...I got up and moved to the US. I'm living in Nebraska now working in a hospital, working on getting to Kansas, and mayb...
  3. Best to start at elementary, middle or high school?

Where I come from some people do tend to do that, but only because school nursing is run through public health. The schools don't have their own nurse...there is a public health nurse responsible for that district or area of town, or multiple towns,...
  4. Best to start at elementary, middle or high school?

That sounds JUST like me! I haven't found anyone with the same opinion yet...I just got out of nursing school and all my classmates hated working with the teenagers, or if they did like it, they didn't know why. I wouldn't mind trying school nursi...
  5. A lot of people don't stay in M/S anyway once they get into their careers...one of the things about nursing is there are all sorts of opportunities...you could go back to school, get something in advanced practice...you could work in a clinic (like b...
  6. Experienced Nurse vs. Graduate Nurse

haha, very cute. I'm just about to be a grad nurse, starting work on Monday. I wonder how many will apply to me. :chuckle
  7. Working in a doctor's office?

I've always just assumed I'd work in a hospital, and so of course, that's where I'm starting out. But eventually I plan to move from the hospital I'm starting at in one state to Kansas, and when I do, I was thinking...maybe I could try applying to w...
  8. Working in a doctor's office?

The way I figure it, a skill is a skill. You pick up and lose them all the time. I mean, no matter where you work there are some nursing skills you are going to use on a regular basis, and the other ones are going to fade a little...and you can alw...
  9. do you ever get comfortable with nudity

Boob jobs on 50/60 year olds? Does that mean they're more firm and they don't sag so much or something? Or do they end up sagging more?

  11. Working in a doctor's office?

So how long were you working in the hospital systems before you got jobs like these? I'm assuming it wasn't right out of nursing school. See, I'm starting in a hospital, but I'm hoping to move after 3 or 4 months tops, and so I'm wondering what my op...

  19. Working in a doctor's office?

What is the turnover rate like in clinics? I would have thought actually that a clinic nurse would get paid more than a hospital nurse, but I'm only just learning about it. :) 3 12 hour shifts does sound nice...I'm not used to that...where I did a...

  21. Changes to Immigration

I don't think it was just a case of misunderstanding. You seemed to say I was wrong, when I was not, and a lot of other people did not know about what I was saying either. Just because you've told people before doesn't mean everyone either a) read ...

  23. Changes to Immigration

If you knew this already then what did you mean here? What you said above is exactly what I told you and what you and other people questioned, so I am confused.
  24. Introductions

I just moved here. :) Well, I'm actually starting work in Nebraska first, but as soon as my Visascreen goes through (I'm Canadian) then to Wichita I go. :) It's an awesome little state, I love it, though MUCH warmer than where I'm from! :chuckle
  25. crossing the border..

I'm going to copy and paste my other post in the other thread: Ok, I called US Citizenship and Immigration (http://uscis.gov/graphics/index.htm). They confirmed what I said above. After that 26th of July, if you possess a TN Visa, but not a Visascr...
