  1. Don't forget to clear what you spray with your hospital. We used to use OZM in our hospital and one of our nurses had to be put on event because she had an allergic reaction. Now we don't use any odor sprays.
  2. I went through this same situation when I graduated in 2009. My charge was from 2001. Like the others stated, make sure to own up to your responsibility, but also make sure they know and feel your passion for a desire to right your wrongs and do good with your life. I too fell on the floor and cried when I received the phone call from the BON allowing me to test. Furthermore, I will never do anything to put my license in jeopardy as the stress of initial licensure was bad enough.
  3. I found TNCC to be easier than ACLS even. Just throwing that out there.

  5. I've been an ICU nurse going on 4 yrs now and have yet to participate in a code (Just the luck of the draw I suppose. Good or bad, idk). Anyway, I feel the same as the OP. I have no advice, only an "I feel ya, sister" Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com
  6. I give my utmost respect to the MS nurses for the patient loads they have to take. It takes a strong person to deal with that. I could not do it permanently. And yes I have, as an ICU nurse, walked more than one shift in the shoes of a MS nurse. BUT..... I am pretty damn sure ICU nurses "depend on their assessment skill, knowledge base and gut" while caring for their patients also. Just because we have "modern technology" doesn't mean we don't use/need basic nursing skills!!! Way to perpetuate the "us against them" attitude.
