  1. Always good to keep records of communication incase of anything. I put in my 2 weeks notice for reasons beyond my control. HR couldn't work with me and i had no choice than to quit. I filed for unemployment, during interview, former employer told Unemployment office that i just worked out with no notice. Lol. Which wasn't, i then faxed unemployment office a copy of email, from HR thanking me for my hard work, and acknowledging my 2 weeks notice. I was even let go before my 2 weeks. I was approved for unemployment and no issues. HR will always fight unemployment and lie.
  2. Oh I see. I know the drive to north valley. lol. Once a week. This will be my first semester at MCC, i attended chandler gilbert community college.Sure see u August. I am 3 -5 mins away from MCC.
  3. I am taking NUR330 in june. I am also in MCC/NAU fall 2012.
  4. Was told they have a glitch and that within. 3 days it would be fixed. I experienced same problem.
  5. Ok. Thanks so much X-Nurse14. I thought as much.I finally signed in and said application closed. I did submit my application with a confirmation of under review status. I am just going to pretend i didnt apply and see how it goes.
  6. How do you log in back to view application status? Anyone knows? I went to HRSA.GOV website and couldn't find where to log in to view application status.
  7. I have Hep B. , CPR card, background check, and health care provider signature left to do. I am registered for NUR 330. I don't know about fall classes at MCC.Haven't gotten any info on scrub. Yes I will schedule for CPR. Thanks.
  8. I am in the June 4 NUR 330 too. Just wondering how the class has been for those who have taken the class in past.
  9. No. Schedule is just for MCC. I think until NUR 330 is completed before one can find out about fall class at NAU. @Lmarko, i think we would be in same class at MCC. I still have CPR card, Hep B and Health care provider certification to get done. Where did u do ur CPR and did you get your card immediately? My Hep B came back as Non reactive, so i need to get the 1-3 injections.
  10. It was emailed as an attachment. Oreintation Info, Nurse pack, text books and deadline for vaccination info.
  11. Got schedule for MCC/NAU fall 2012. Mon and Tues - 9am-11.50am,Weds and Thurs - 7am-3.30pm and Fri free. If anyone here is going to MCC, lets get in touch. I am already registered for NUR 330(Tues 9am- 1pm),got registered for 2nd summer instead of 1st summer, working to have this changed and Financial aid ready. Just trying to finish this vaccination thing and cpr card. We still have a long way to go till August at least, lets keep each other posted.
  12. After reading the whole 6 pages comments, it baffles me when someone comes here to share her experience and some people think because they are nurses or have been nurses for million yes, they can impose what they feel or think it is on others. Everyone here saying they are happy to have student nurses and willing to help, you can only speak for urself and not come out to state you find it strange that there is no nurse that will not turn down student nurses. SOME PEOPLE HERE THINK THEY KNOW TOO MUCH AND THEY ARE ALWAYS RIGHT AND WILL ALWAYS BE RIGHT. Yes caps, cos i am tired of such people on here. Grown man can say whatever i want.
  13. Time Stamp 10/8/10, got in the program February 18th, 2012(Received acceptance email). MCC/NAU FALL 2012. Start in June with NUR 330 at NAU.
  14. I just read another topic on this site " 1 year out, no job, Throw in the towel? ". Stated, graduated in 2011 April, applied for jobs, left town to visit family(Didn't state how long she was gone for), cos she hadn't seen them in a long while, and came back, just recently applied for jobs few weeks ago. Now she is asking if she could quit. Lol. When you read things like this, it makes me realise that i can't believe everything i read on here. Human beings are very funny.
  15. To the person who comes from military family. Regardless of the purpose or reason for people joining the military, the fact which you have refused/failed to realise, is that people are still joining the military regardless, whether it be for money or whatever. They are still joining. Your husband is/was not the only military recruiter in the country, so i wouldn't go off of that. Sometimes people write and don't even know what they are writing. A lot of people say stuff and can't even back it up. It is not anyones business to try to persuade people or persons into changing career. It is very wrong and a terrible thing to do. I am going for BSN, and i start in August and i am expected to graduate may 2014. Just as people said the wait list is 2-3yrs or whatever and tried to discourage others, i only waited for 1yr 6 months or less maybe. How? Cos i switched plans instead of going for ADN, it helped me get in before people that have been waiting years or months before me. People will always figure things out themselves or not, but don't put it upon yourself to make sure that people shouldn't go into nursing. Just as someone who has been in the professions for 33 years, stated earlier that "We don't need nurses". Where do all these people come from? lol.
  16. You said nurses are not needed(Read Your Statement). It's not about starting school or not starting school, it's not about how many years you have spent on your job or profession. It would be nice reading comments from new grads here who have proven your statement wrong. Allnurses is not the world, there are thousands of nurses, including new grads that are not here on this site. So it's not all that you read on here. Some responses here above have proven your statement is very wrong. Sometimes people think they know too much and they are always right. Has nothing to do with age or years on job. Everyday is not christmas therefore nobody knows what the future will be for anyone. I am smart enough not to go by all i read on this site. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I am still trying to figure out why some people will take it upon themselves that they need to convince others not to go into a profession and they don't think its very wrong. The fact that things aren't going well for you doesn't mean it won't go well for others.
  17. You don't like your job, quit the job or nursing profession and move on. Why stay in a profession that has made ur life miserable? Thats why people are going to school to become nurses and will take ur job, thats why people are going for direct BSN program. If something isn't working for you then you improvise. If it's not working for you doesn't mean it's not going to work for someone else. We all have different charasteristics at work and i am sure the way people talk or relate to co-workers at work is part of reason why work has been unbearable for some people. When you quit your nursing job, i would like to know what profession you getting into next and what qualifications you have for that job that you feel you should be hired. Done.
  18. 2:39 am by esme12 2:39 am by esme12 a member since aug '05 - from 'east coast'. esme12 has '33' year(s) of nursing experience and specializes in 'critical care, ed, cath lab, ctpac, trauma'. posts: 4,043 likes: 7,267 age: 51 awards: quote from rnlane we need nurses! i try to encourage students. its hard enough to be in nursing school right now. if they ask, then tell them what you know in a caring way. i wouldn't offer unsolicited "statistics". nurses are hard enough on new nurses as it is i think we need to edify and encourage them to not give up. they will find a job somewhere! well, right now we really don't need nurses......it's ok to follow your dreams but that doesn't mean that there will be work and you won't be able to pick and choose your shift or speciality. so you mean nurses are not needed now? you mean people should stop becoming nurses? until? when nurses quit their jobs for one reason or the other or move to another state , who takes the open spots? who fills in spots when older nurses retire? what about hospitals that are still accepting new grads? so from this moment henceforth, new grads included, need to find something else doing and forget what they have worked for, since you mentioned nurses are not needed. i would like to know when you have an idea when nurses will be needed or they will never be needed forever? do you know how many nurses lose their license everyday? do you know how many new grads that get hired that are not even part of allnurses forum? i have also read on this site where people (i won't call them nurses) quit their jobs and come here to say nursing is not good or blah, blah, blah .... the fact that it doesn't work for them doesn't mean it won't work or is not working for other people. the fact that american soldiers are dying in middle east, hasn't stopped people from joining the military. i think as a nurse people coming into the profession should be encouraged and negativity should be out of it. how many nurses here have been told they can't make it through nursing school, how many people here have been discouraged about nursing and it has been the best thing for them or decision they have ever made. nothing personal, i just don't believe that i will read a statement like this on this site.
  19. Does is mean that anyone who graduates nursing from the time you started speaking to these people won't get a job ? Does it mean that there will be no Nursing jobs ever when they graduate? Does it mean that people should stop going to school for nursing? Do you have any other profession that you can guarantee that they will get a job when they graduate? What does it profit you to tell or try to convince them that they wont find a job when they graduate? I am just trying to understand your purpose. No offense. People are different and getting a job sometimes depends on where you apply, way you present yourself or what you have on your resume. I could be a new grad. apply to hospitals that pay well or where a friend works or closer to me and not get a job, and then i come up here saying i can't find a job. Whereas i could have ignored applying for jobs at state prison. So one can't go by all you read on here about new grads, not saying there is jobs everywhere. Everyone with their own luck and sometimes it could be people you know. Just saying.
  20. "Everyone still awaiting placement should be considering attending a Concurrent Enrollment Information Session for information about that track. Capacity for placement will steadily be converted to those programs in future semesters. " This is from the status page website. I was lucky to be placed with MCC/NAU concurrent program. Time stamp 10/8/10. It just shows that priority has shifted to concurrent applicants. Like above person mentioned, it is worth looking into. Most of us concurrent students even got notified of placement since 18th of february. No way should reflection be mistaken for Glorification.
  21. Officially placed. Nice.
  22. Even if you have re-affirmed and have been placed, you still need to fax or email your level one fingerprint card. The status page will show where to fax it to or email it to. And it will show on your status page as confirmed.
  23. Yeah, the status page had the fingerprint info.
