BON said my urine was diluted!!!!
I am sorry to hear you have to meet with the Board now....I was in one alternative program for 3 1/2 yrs and completed it successfully and the other state where my license is in expired status they would not accept that program, so now they put me in their program for another 3 yrs., so, yes i also try to stay positive because it is what it is.........anyways, i had a urine couple times that seemed diluted when i gave my sample but they never said anything they just selected me again to give another urine the following week, they were negative.....but i do drink water alot, i always have......but i was informed by a lab tech, they can tell if it is from water because there is a certain level of creatnine that should be in a urine sample, even if someone did drink water.....well i hope it all works out for you.......

How many times selected?

How many times selected?
Hey Vehn.....thanks for the reply....yes it is good to talk to another PNAPer.....hey did you get anything regarding the Board reporting your case to the national practitioner data bank? what is that about? how long is your probation for? Do they ever give early release? I already completed another states alternative prog. successfully and Pa. wouldn't accept it and threw me into their DMU....PNAP.....

How many times selected?
Oh I found that out Jack.....I was so upset when I completed the Ohio alt.prog. and I notified the PA and they said...sorry you have to do ours now and they put me in the PNAP......I had a lawyer but didn't help.....well it is what it is and I had to turn it over as the program teaches us in recovery.......I was just wondering about the monthly random urine screens how many they will select me for because the prices have went way up.....Goodness Gracious !! One thing is my casemanager I have in the PNAP is really a great person and she has 20 yrs under her belt with recovery......I always look forward to your posts on here Jack.....I appreciate your words of wisdom...thanks.:)

How many times selected?
hey thanks for the replies i appreciate it......PNAP is the peer nurse asst. program.....and DMU is their displinary monitoring unit.....well they told me i am only to call Mon thru Fridays.....I was surprised because in the other state that I completed their alternative program I had to call everyday.....well i am hoping they don't select me more than twice a month because it is quite expensive.....thanks........

How many times selected?
Just thought I would ask others if or while any of you were in a DMU with PNAP how many times you were selected every month to give a random urine...I am just starting the PNAP and just was wondering. I had already completed another states 3 yr alternative program but this state would not accept that program i completed successfully......so now i have to do it again for PNAP......

What to do with co-worker that is drinking
I agree with Esme12.....you can approach her privately in a calm manner, but if she is not impaired at work than you don't have proof and it is up to your manager and DON to handle this matter with the employee...just be positive if you are going to report someone that you have proof to back it up, but if she does admit to you that she does need help than that is a great because there is alot of help out there for impaired professionals.

Roll call...status call...
yes i completed a alternative program 3 1/2 yr completed in 6/2010 and it was suppose to be reciprocity with Pa. prog. but my residing state where i was in the program would not send the paperwork to Pa. every 3 months....so i was caught in the middle of both states and now Pa. said I have to do their program but putting me in their discplinary prog. saying i refused their voluntary prog. which is not true....so now i will be doing 3 more yrs. of DMP for Pa., now one question you said Pa. requires the nurse peer group, if one doesn't have one to go to i will talk to my casemanager but are the managers in Pa. pretty good to work with? The alternative program i just completed my monitoring agent was very nice and never gave me any problems.....just wondering what to expect....thanks...

Roll call...status call...
hi lisa...(RNZenpeaceful)...i wanted to ask you what the disciplinary monitoring program in Pa. is like? I was in a voluntary prog. in my residing state that i completed in June 2010 but Pa. wouldn't accept that and are making me do their DMP now....I am suppose to hear tomorrow of what i exactly have to do....i go to my meetings every week anyways, but i just wondered the prof. nurses mtg. i don't have any close to me i looked online and none listed, did they require you too do those also or could you just do your weekly mtgs.? Looking forward to your reply. Thanks.

alternative program to DMU...
Well I and RN addicted to opiates, clean for 4 1/2 yrs., completed the voluntary alternative program in June 2010 (3 1/2 yrs), had inactive nursing license in another state that says now that I refused to do there program when I started the alternative program in my state....which is not true, they would not accept information at the time from me it had to be the BON from my state that was suppose to send it but they would not do that....so long story short a year ago had to pay and atty..to represent me to the prosecuting atty for this state where my inactive license has been to see if they would accept my completion letter of the alternative program i just finished......well year later and after being ordered to go to have assessment evaluation done by their provider......their BON said NO.....they will not accept it.....I have to do their states program now ( another 3 yrs) but it is not their voluntary alternative program they are throwing me into their disciplinary program and it is on my record in that state forever now......that my license has history of disciplinary action.......my license will stay expired in this state because I don't plan on working in this state ever......i am thankful I am working in a good nursing job and I guess now I will have to stay here until i retire because I don't know if anyone will hire me anywhere else if I should ever relocate to another state......My license in the state I live now is clear, there is nothing showing I ever had discipline taken because I completed their program successfully.....so my question is if i ever should relocate would I have to say anything about this state where my license is in expired status....??? Or just go with my active license that is in good standing..... :)
