  4. my husband is a meteorologist. People ALWAYS ask me what the weather is going to be like today.
  5. Thank you all for all of your posts. I just cannot wait to get to your country someday! Everywhere sounds so wonderful. How will we ever choose?

  7. I am the exact same way. I study 110% and if I do not make the grade I am very upset. I hate that I am like this. This semester we have had three tests. The first two tests I made the A's, the third test (taken just last week) I made an 84. I was so upset that it pretty much ruined my entire weekend. I know I should not be hard on myself over a B. In fact, when my fellow classmates get a B and are happy I am happy right there with them. I know a B is very very good. I am so sick of the pressure I put on myself I have decided to let it all go. I am no longer looking at my test grades. At my school the professors post them on WebCT and nowhere else. I am now having my husband check my grade, tell me if it was within passing range (70% or higher), and then I press with pride. I study as hard as I can. Whether I get a 96 or a 76 I study the same. I know there is probably nothing I could change about my study habits and therefore no longer look at my scores. I took a fundamentals test yesterday and my husband looked at my score for me. He told me it was in the good enough range and so I will continue on. I will no longer make myself believe I am only as worthy as whatever grade I get on a test. I feel much better right now than I ever have before after a test. I will now be able to focus on becoming the best nurse I can instead of the best nursing student.
  8. You guys are so great!!!! Thank you all so much! I just love this board. THANKS! Jill
  9. Hi, everybody! I hope all of your classes are going well this semester. I am in pharmacology and we have a list of abbreviations to define. There are a few I cannot find! I have looked in Tabers, the book, online, and an IV book and cannot find these. If you know what these stand for or even think you know I would REALLY appreciate your input. 1. BSA 2. d 3. dx 4. IVSS Thank you so much!!!!!!!

  11. Wow, I must have it made. I have not started school yet (I start tomorrow), but I think we are on the basic point scale. 90-100 A 80-89 B 70-79 C I am fairly sure we can get a 70 and still pass. However, I migh be very surprised tomorrow! GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!
  12. Thank you so much for the information on Adelaide. I have seen picture and you are right, it is amazing! I cannot wait to see it for myself. Thanks again! Jill
  13. This is horrible! If she could not get up the husband (or whoever) had to bring her the food that was KILLING her! To sustain that weight she had to have been eating a lot of calories everyday. Her husband has a lot of responsibility for that outcome.
  14. If I was you I would go with my heart. There is a job market for MD's too! If you passion is for curing a patient go for the MD, if it is caring for and nurturing the patient become a nurse. Do not let anybody (not even your parents!) talk you out of your dream. If you go for it when you succeed I doubt there will be very many days when you wish you were a nurse instead of a physician. You know where your heart truly lies.
  15. My husband has full arm tattoos. We live in the south and almost all of the older women look at him like he has horns sprouting from his head. When he is in his work clothes (shirt and tie) people look at him like he is the nicest guy in the world, but in a short sleeved shirt they look at him like he is a bum off the street. He is a meteorologist and works for the government, but some people here if they saw his arms would not even give him a chance. It is really pathetic.
