  1. i got a job in a nursing home and it's not really what im looking for but its so hard to find a job these days. im thinking ICU or ER but everyone keeps looking for experience. it can get really frustrating.
  2. Just the book. Great idea in signing up for kaplan. if you have problems in reading the test questions, then the strategies will definitely help you. in my case, i just read the rationales for each answer and that helped me a lot! and by the way, it was way more difficult than saunders. thank you!
  3. I've gone through some job listings here in the US and there are a couple that require a minimum GPA. As a nurse coming from the Philippines, our grading system is the GWA. Does anyone know of a way to convert GWA to GPA? Or on how to go about with these jobs that require GPAs. Thanks!
  4. im a new grad and recently just passed the nclex. and to all those who will be taking, good luck! i swear the PVT works. anyways.. i will soon be looking for a nursing job but im still so confused as to what field i should go into. i definitely have no plans of going into OR, pediatrics, and labor&delivery. i want something that doesnt deal too much with patients and family members because i just cant stand angry parents/spouses etc demanding so much even after giving an explanation about a difficult situation. i heard many new grads try med surg but ive also heard its not the most appealing field for new grads since they end up hating nursing because of it. i would be so grateful to anyone who can enlighten me with my current dilemma.
  5. im a foreign grad too. i just came from taking my test a few days ago and found out that i passed! i used kaplan and hesi since kaplan has some really hard questions and hesi has a summarized points to remember throughout the book. both were really helpful! good luck!
  6. PVT definitely works! tried and tested with not just me, but a whole lot of my friends. stopped at 75 Qs with SATAs and drug questions. kudos to whomever came up with that idea. good luck to everyone else who's taking it soon!
  7. i suggest you try kaplan. it breaks down the process of answering the question and they have this thing called "decision tree" which could be of great help for you.
  8. Heparin - Protamine Sulfate (in Heaven there is Peace) Warfarin - Vit K (in War there is Killing) apparently someone already uploaded the random facts document on mediafire. http://www.mediafire.com/?8joeselpf487p6k
