  1. It works for me I see the PVT test like a pregnancy test; false positive can happen but rare, while false negative is more common
  2. Thank you! I passed. Quick result shows ‘pass' exactly 48 hrs later :) I checked religiously from 0920-0930 .. my test time was at 0930
  3. I only used Uworld too. I went to long distance school, Excelsior, and finished my nursing theory classes 3-4 years ago so my nursing knowledge is definitely not fresh. I took my exam today, got 75 questions, tried pvt trick and got a good pop up so far.. finger crossed that the trick is accurate!
  4. I'm more impressed with English being your 4th language! It's my second language and I feel like I'm super awesome for learning it later on in life hahah..
  5. Thanks for sharing I only used Uworld too for 3 weeks. Took the exam this am and I tried the pvt trick an hr after and got a good pop up. Hopefully it's accurate..
  6. I only used Uworld and I have been out of school for a long time .. took the test this am and I got the good pop up using Pearson Vue trick so far
  7. Hi, i just took my nclex RN at 0930am today. It shut off at 75 questions. I waited 1-2 hrs to try the pvt trick and got the good pop up that says "our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time" i tried the the trick both with and without the correct credit card info, still received the same pop up. Has there been anyone who got the good pop up and still failed? Thank You!
  8. I used it on top of my tcn... Then I took the practice exams and got very low scores (in the 50s).. So to me sg101 didnt work out as well as it did for other tests i had taken.. I skipped to ls3 instead and just took ls3 test last week... now Im going to study ls2 again.. i just ordered recommended books for ls2 on amazon yesterday :/ ... I rented some from amazon and bought some with a total of $170ish...
  9. The test to me seems to focus on nursing interventions.. I studied the disease process but didn't pay enough attention to what a nurse should do if a patient is present with the disease...
  10. Hi I just moved and had been applying for nursing jobs for a week. I ended up being referred to Maxim home health, which was what I had been doing for couple years before the move. It was kinda like I was hired on the spot, I went in for an interview and they had me filled out and application, then told me that they will call to set up an orientation. They didn't make me an offer at this point, just said that the pay rate depended on the case (if pt has private insurance the pay would be more than medicare), usually about $19 to $22/hr . Orientation day came, it was a one-to-one orientation with the clinical director about rules and regulations, etc. Again, the director did not mention anything about what I would be paid. At this point it looked like I was already their employee because they took my picture and printed out my badge. They also give me an online workshops that I need to complete prior to working the first case. Again, I never received an offer letter. Then last week one of the recruiters emailed me about a case he wanted me to take... I finally asked about the pay rate, he then said the same thing that I was told before, only that his range is a lower $17-$20/hr. Throughout the process with Maxim, I got a call from a dialysis place which I had applied prior to Maxim. I had an interview and got hired with this place. Their benefit package is great, and they offered me an acceptable pay rate. Now this Maxim recruiter is again asking me if I would be interested in that case. I would like to send the clinical director and cc him that I accept a job with someone else, and I was very sorry for wasting their time. In my defense, I had no idea when exactly I was hired and how much I was going to get paid. I probably won't mention that part, but just wondering if anyone has any suggestion as how I should handle this. Thank you in advance for any advice!!
  11. I don't remember where I got it from, but somehow I remember seeing somewhere that 30 out of the 130 questions are unscored questions. In the detailed score report, it states "The percentage is based on both scored and unscored items and was not used to calculate your letter grade." So in other word, we can't even tell from those percentage info how we really did on the scored portion of the exam. Although, based on what percentage of each area they give you, you can use that to calculate how many correct answers you got out of the 130 questions. I made a B on one of the test, and from my calculation I got 71 questions correct out of 130. If 71 is a B, which is 80%, then the scored questions should be 88.75 or about 88 questions. This would make the amount of unscored questions 42. hope my input helps a little... Let me know too if you find any more info on how they score the exam =)
  12. Thanks jlynn167 and NursePooda =) I just came back from testing for LS3. I made a B using TCN, practice exams, a bit of sg101, and flashcardexchange.com. Practice exams scores: 87 and 76 .... highest scores for all practice exams I ever took, I really hoped that I might make an A with these scores but I made a B.... i'm still pleased that I passed I still have LS2 left ... I skipped this test bc my practice exams scores for this class were horrible.. in the 50s, so I got scared and decide to save it for last... If anyone has any recommendation for this class, please advise me =) Good luck to you guys too... =)
  13. woohoo congrat!!
  14. I use TCN books for all my exams, and sg101 with some of the exams.... TCN is pretty good.. I took LS1 last year, and got an A... tomorrow i'm taking LS 3 ..... I will let you know if I pass using TCN. I also looked through flashcardexchange.com for lifespan 3. I did pretty good with the excelsior practice exams, but I still feel like i'm not ready at all. =( As much as i'm not ready, I'm done with studying... i'm just hoping for the best tomorrow..
  15. congrats!! one step closer to becoming a RN =))
  16. Thank you! So I need to speak to my advisor first?
  17. Hi.. While I tried to register for this course through excelsior, it looks like the class won't start until September and the class lasts 2 months... Does thisway that there will be homework and stuff? Is there any other way I can take this course in a shorter period of time? Thank you for any info!!
  18. thank you =) .... this test was definitely harder than other tests so far
  19. I have been so scared of this test that i kept postponing it. I had heard so many scaring things about people not passing but as hard as the test is, i think that if you study and do the practice tests then you will most likely pass. =)) I set a test date only because i realized 2 weeks ago that my deadline to take the test is coming up. I used the college network, studygroup101, and practice tests. (and i passed with an A)... study group quizzes really helped... it covered some materials that TCN didn't cover (e.g.compensating respiratory acidosis, etc.).. I think you really need to know your meds and its side effects.. Hope this help anyone out there that still need to study for this test =)
  20. I'm one of the college network victims. They made it sound like they are affiliated with Excelsior when they actually are just a book publisher: a very expensive one (i'm paying about $212/month for 5 years) . Though their books are great(i made all As and Bs so far and i only have LS2 and LS3 left), it's probably more worth it if you just buy recommended books by Excelsior. I was young and eager to become an RN, so I fell for them. They sent a rep to my place, I had his personal phone number thinking that if anything i could always contact him..... (after I got a clue about what TCN really is, he stopped answering my calls) The rep told me all about how TCN would assist me in every step throughout the program which I thought I would need since I don't like to get on the computer too much, and i was still confused about how to contact the school if they are not physically here. Well, that wasn't true at all. I had to do everything by myself. All TCN could do to help was answering the phone. They can't even contact Excelsior in regards of me when they claimed that they are affiliated with Excelsior. bottom line, don't go for them. They are just taking advantage of Excelsior nursing students.
