What about ASN? Courses are being offered by the same group saying that ASN or Applied Science in Nursing is equivalent to an RN degree there. Is this true? Most nurses from the Phillippines migrating to the US have a BSN degree not ASN that's why I'm asking. ASN is a new concept here in the Phillippines as well. hope to hear from you soon on this

I'm still in the Phils earning my credits. Anyway, is the rate good enough, barely respectable? or it's not worth it?

One of my classmates just found out that lump is growing in her chest. She had an operation on it and is doing well now. Just like you, she wanted so bad to be a nurse and I'm glad that she can still have that chance. Women like you are a great inspiration since men like us really have no idea what you go through in times like that. I'm proud of you and thankful that you get to continue your studies. let us know how your progress is doing!

It's surprising to know that we all have different experiences on this one. If anyone wanted to know, I did well on our practical. The girl I did subcutaneous adminsitration is still alive and reports to class. We just used distilled H20 but it's still painful. Personally, I'm glad we did it. I don't think we'll do cath on each other tho (whew!)

We're about to do a return demo (RD) this coming Monday. it's to demonstrate IM, intradermal and subcutaneous injections. We're ask to pick a partner in class and do it to one another. Just curious if any of you had to go through the same practical demonstration

Nursing is such a broad industry that you can actually have more options that just working in a hospital. Try to identify what you enjoy the most in this profession and pursue a career doin that first. No one's immune from failures and mistakes. You just need to identify your weaknesses as well and overcome it eventually. Stick on maximizing your strengths first. I know you have a lot. Look at your past experiences as a warning telling you that things could have been done differently. Learn from it and move on.

Well, we did the same in school but it's mostly with the same gender - and being a guy, it's not easy to be bathed by another dude (if you know what i mean) :rotfl: Anyway, most of the class appreciate it since we're all going to be nurses anyway so no malice done. We're scheduled to do parentheral application (IM, Intradermal and subcutaneous) this Monday with one another. Let me tell you, nothing beats the real thing! I just figured it's all better than doing pereneal flushing! :imbar

Congratulations. I think most advise will be relative. the most important ones to note will be the advise you'll get from your supervisor more than anyone else. find out how you can do great at work in your condition. what are the institution's policies on this? what kind of support/programs do they have? Ask those at work how was it like for those who got pregnant while working there. I know you'll do great. My wife is also pregnant with our second child. By the way, your birthday is on the same date as our School Feast Day.

I think each of us is entitled to their ow opinion. Besides we have better get motivated for a higher cause to really do well in this world. Selfishness is not enough motivation to hang on to. Personally, I don't really know what to think of religion since I got burned by churches many times. Leaders often have a God complex thinking they have to be obeyed to the fullest. Re Jesus, I was raised beleiving in Him although I'm in a stage where I'm seeking for some answers now. I believe Jesus' existence canot be questioned. Whether He did rose from the grave or not, He did turned the world upside down. His impact remains unquestionable. Makes you think.
