  4. Hey Nrice28 I live in Dahlonega just 8 minutes from the school, and I've also applied but I have to take the TEAS test. How did you do on the TEAS test? When I pass the test I plan on starting in the Nursing program in 2011
  5. First of I want to say this post is wonderful and I want to thank everyone for being a counselor, a shoulder to lean on, and a therapist. I have sort of a dilemma myself and I'm trying not to let it bother me. I'll give a little background about myself; school was never my strong point, when I was in high school I took all the easy classes to graduate, back in 1986. Forward to 1994 I wanted to go to college, so I applied but because I didn't take the SAT Test, I had to learn and practice everything all on my own. I pass but barley, the school accepted me but I had to take remedial classes. I eventually dropped out because I had no idea about how to study or take notes, plus I was married and going through some emotional problems. Forward again to 2002 I went to a vocational school in Georgia; it was pretty easy I got a diploma in Medical Billing. Please stay with me I'm getting to the point. Now jump ahead to 2009 where I'm currently in school for Information technology. Online school is a lot of work but not a lot of studying or note taking that's pretty much up to you if you want to retain the information, plus the tests are open book. But don't get me wrong it's still a lot of work I have to write 4 essays a week with some research. As of now all I need is AP and Microbiology for the ASD nursing program. I have already been accepted to the University but now I have to take the TEAS test. My dilemma is I'm not scared anymore about test or school like I use to be, I know my weakness, one being math. But when I read the last post of the girl that said he failed nursing school and for the first time in a long time I got scared. See I work at night and I will have to continue to work because its just me and my Son. My fear is that if I get accepted to nursing school, how will I find the time to read all the assignments plus take good notes and study. I will admit I'm not that great at studying although I've done it before and passed also I get great tips from my son and friends. I don't want to get into nursing school then get kicked out so I was thinking that maybe I should just take the TEAS test and once I pass just wait until 2012 since I have at least two year before the test has to be taken again, and just concentrate on my online degree then go to nursing school in 2012 instead of 2011. I don't know what to do I try to leave it in the lord's hand but I take it back by trying to figure it out for myself. I want to be a nurse that's where my passion is but I don't want to fail either. I know this is a long story and I sorry but I guess I need a little pep talk or reassurance or just someone who understands. Thanks again Cookie422

  8. Hello everyone I'm new to the post. I've been reading a lot of the post mostly when I should be studying...lol. I can't help it they are so interesting. Well anyway I live in Georgia and I was wondering if there are any pre-nursing student on this website and if so have you already taken the TEAS V test. I getting ready to take mines in December and I'm really kinda of scared my biggest down fall is the math so I really need some encouragement on that. For those who have passed the TEAS test great job and much luck in the future. :)
  9. I've read most of post and its nice that everyone response to their age. Well I went back to school at 41 and I've decided to go into the nursing program where I live. I have always wanted to do nursing especially when I was in my 20's but I never thought I was smart enough. But now since I've been taking online classes it has really help my confidence as well leaving it to the lord to get me through. Now the only thing left is for me to take the TEAS V exam which I'll be doing that in December, so wish me luck. To everyone else I thought it was too late also but now I see it's never to late for your dreams. Good luck to all!!!!

It's funny I'm constantly reading post here when I should be studying but I'm learning so much from what everyone is posting. I'm going to buy the Kaplan's prenursing book this weekend, I already have the TEAS V. But at this moment I should be finishing up my essay but I can't stop reading the post. So I write a little then read a post or two then write some more....lol Well back to writing!!!

  12. Hello everyone, I applied to GPC around July 2010 online but I never finish the process. They sent me a letter asking for transcription and SAT scores but my main focus in on North Georgia College where I live, which is 5 minutes as oppose to GPC which is about 40 miles. I'll be taking my TEAS 5 test in December so wish me luck. I've read other post about studying from the Kaplan's nursing entrance exam so I'm going to pick up one this weekend, I already have the TEAS book right now.
  13. Hey, I'm also studying for the TEAS V test, but I don't take my until December. I am little scared but I'm not going to let that stop me. I'm not that great in Math so I'm going to keep practicing until I get it. Wish me luck....
