  1. Navy blue scrub pants, white scrub top with school logo in navy on left shoulder. ID badge, white shoes, white socks, hair up (no bangs). We also have restrictions on makeup (minimal), jewelry (one pair stud earrings, no necklaces, smooth band rings only (no raised stones)), nails (trimmed to fingertips, no polish, no acrylics), etc. etc. etc. - for all classes and clinicals. :)
  2. To answer your earlier question, yes - I took 5 classes of pre-req's at keiser (online) prior to starting my core. When I'm all done I'll have close to 30k in loans - costs are roughly 7500 per semester. Be prepared to pay a lot of cash out just before/at the beginning of your first semester, too. Have to buy uniforms, stethoscope, get immunizations/titers of immunity, dr. visit, CPR cert, etc. etc. etc. I'd guess close to $600 I spent just getting those taken care of prior to starting classes.
  3. The pace is swift, but not unreasonable for a 16 month program. We have a test about every week over around 10 chapters. I have a 4 year old daughter (and am a single mom), so I did get the max financial aid and am still taking out student loans on top of it. It is a pricy program, but I looked around to all of the local RN programs and the waitlists were insane. By the time I would be starting a program at a different school, I will be done at Keiser and already paying off those loans. Not waiting around for years to get started in the career I want is worth paying for it, to me. I finish in Dec 2011.
  4. I'm currently in the RN program at Keiser in Sarasota and am very happy with the school, program, pace, etc. :) Feel free to ask anything - I'll answer if I know
  5. what about breastfeeding... if she is, is there risk for ineffectiveness due to being loopy on the mag sulfate (I was on this and it makes everything wonky...) (I know that's not NANDA, but a point to jump from). also what about family processes - she probably wasn't ready to deliver at 33 weeks and is likely in mental shock over the sudden c-section, etc. Good luck :)
  6. Thanks so much! Just got the Kaplan NCLEX-RN book and it made my day :)
  7. I see my BF for about 2 weeks every 2-3 months, but we talk on the phone multiple times a day and webcam/chat almost every evening. He lives 1300 miles away from me right now and will for probably the next year. It's hard not getting to see him as often as I want to, but in some ways it is easier to be able to study more and know I'm working so hard now to have more time together when we do live together.
  8. I have 2 sets and am going to buy 2 more when they go on 'start of semester discount' next week at the bookstore. We are required to buy the tops through the school (white with the logo embroidered on), but we can wear any navy scrub pants we want (woo!!). The 2 sets I bought were 25 per set. I have 2 days of clinicals and 2 days of class (we are required to wear scrubs to class, too). I will probably get an extra set eventually for emergencies, but I'm waiting a while to spend on non-essentials.
  9. WOW - 159 classmates! There are 24 in my class and we're in all the same classes together all the way through.
  10. I just finished Orientation Week last week for my core start of Aug 30. We had 4 hours a day for 5 days and covered the basic info (uniforms, schedules, teacher intros, books, etc.), professionalism, overview of dosage calculations, review of medical terminology & A&P, writing workshop, student services, study techniques ... very thorough :)
  11. Ashley, How big are the files on your itouch? Like how many MB/GB is an hour lecture?
