  1. Thanks kitdidit and scrubb! I ask to be a member on the fb group already. :) also, with the packet stuff, I got 3 pages only. Thats.. it.. I just need to do a TB test and that's all. But I think i'll turn in my report just to make sure what I'm thinking is correct. :) I'm trying to call Ms. Washington and talk to her for more details b/c. when they say 'packet' I expect a 5 pages long or something, not 3 pages. o_O;
  2. gahhh, i know how you guys are feeling. i really hope i get into UTA's. >_
  3. can you send me the link for the fb group? I cant find the link for our specific year.
  4. Hey I got accepted to TWU but I think my packet was messed up, I only received 2 sheets and I got an attitude from some one in the nursing department (which kind of tells me that I am missing information). my questions are: are we supposed to complete all our immunizations by may 4th? are we supposed to complete our criminal background screening/drug screening by may 4th? if so, how do we do it?
  5. Ah okay then. Congrats on getting in! :) Since you probably had taken the Evolve's HESI, do you have any idea what kind of questions the A/P portion will be? Do you remember if there are questions that needed to know diseases that are usually in the boxes in the text book for "interesting things to know in clinical diseases," for example, sickle cells or HIVs. Also, what tips do you recommend about vocabulary? The ones they give out in the Evolve guide are way too easy... So I feel that there's a catch.
  6. Oooh, BU... I used to go there for my first year but what killed me was the financial stuff... Good Luck. You'll need it...
  7. That's weird, I emailed a counselor about sending the HESI scores from HCC to UTh about that and UTh told me it is okay.
  8. I have the same ideas about A&M, I even have a friend over there too who's been telling me about it. But, I kept hearing bad reviews from this site about the instructors at A&M. But I'm going to try to apply to A&M. I hope you can get in, you have a really good hearted reason to go. :) TWU's stuff about HESI and THEAS test did confuse me a bit too. When I went to their website, one link says HESI, another says TEAS. A friend of mine just got into TWU, and she told me she only did the HESI. She's in it now. So I don't know for sure if it means the new comings have to take the THEAS now. I thought that HESI is a national test and I didn't find anything else that said otherwise. But the people who told me that each schools takes different "HESI"s, maybe they were talking about a loophole. Like, if you take the HESI and send it only to Prairie View and UT, then take another HESI and only send that score to UTA and Baylor. So I guess, in the school's mind, they only see 'one' score from that student. There's TWO personality tests? It didn't say that in the sections required. Are you sure there's another one? http://coleman.hccs.edu/coleman/a-career-in-health-sciences/nursing-registered-nursing/hesi-info Also, do you have any clue if when they say grammar, it also means "general knowledge and grammar" ? I can't find any HESI tests that has a section called "general knowledge."
  9. hmmm, what about formulas like calculating pH or finding the cardiac output ?
  10. The Hep B immunization is required at all nursing schools isn't it? When I looked in HBU, I couldn't find any thing of the sort.
  11. Can HCC"s HESI test be sent to both UTh and TWU? I heard about a rumor were each school has a different HESI.
  12. I guess no one knows anything about it D:
  13. Oh, and the HESI guide I have, from elsevier, only reviewed over, histology, mitosis/meiosis, skin, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, urinary and fe/male reproductive system.
  14. Hmm, alright. So basically study moderately on each system. Does questions come from ALL systems or most of them? I'm asking this because I'm studying the Lymp system right now and I have the Respiratory, Digestive, metabolism/nutrition,fluid/electrolyte/acid-base homeostasis, Reproductive, and development/inheritance left to look over.
  15. Hey everyone, I'm nervous about my HESI that I'm taking in April. What I'll like to know is that when you took the HESI, what portion of the A&P questions did you have? I heard from one peer in 2009 it was about the cardio and another was about the special senses. So, this tells me that the HESI picks a system and uses most of it on the test itself. Also, I'm in the middle of my A&PII right now, (Lymp system). Thanks, Sue
