But during those 3 months, is it because you had to do the billing over again? or it just happened that Medicaid processed it slow since its over $3000. I'm really worried but like you said, maybe I missed the pay cycle - I submitted on a Tuesday - that's why I havent received anything at all. I submitted 16 days of work - 10 hours per day. It's frustrating me that I may have to wait another two weeks to get paid for those days. I might as well turn in my other days.

So you had to wait for 3 months to get a paycheck? I did my first billing last week on Tuesday afternoon. I'm just waiting to get the mail. I hope I get it this week or something. I'm getting impatient since I waited for almost a month till I did the billing - a mistake I guess since there is a 30 day expiration date.

According to the agency I'm with, the pay rate for my case was 28.81 per hour. I have filed my first billing last Tuesday. I wonder how long will it take till I get paid? Just wanna know since I waited almost a month to bill and thats a lot of days

You shouldn't even be expecting to get med calculations. They are low level type questions. That should alarm you that your trajectory is way below the passing rate. I knew of this when I failed my first nclex exam. I had two med calculations and my computer shut offed at 75. But during my second take, I didn't have any and passed at 75 as well. Don't worry too much about med calculations but that doesn't mean you shouldn't practice either. Just don't hope to get some when you're taking your exam. Good luck future RN!

If you tried to register and it said that you can't register at this time, that's the good pop up. Not the status of your results.

To do the PVT, you have register again for the exam. Fill in every information needed. If it says you cannot register at this time, it means you pass. If it goes directly to the credit card page, most likely you failed. And also, in order to do this, the results should have been delivered successfully AND not available at this time. Goodluck!

yes, you can take the exam without a license in the philippines. but i think you need to have a ssn. i didn't take the local board after i graduated

Yes, Kaplan is okay for foreign students. I took Kaplan and passed it with 75 questions. But one thing you should know about Kaplan review classes - they are a bit expensive (700 dollars) and it only teaches you test taking skills and decision making on picking the answer. It will not teach you any content, you have to learn all that your self. Their qbank questions are very similar to the nclex ones and very hard ones as well. I think its very wise to invest in a live review class. And as much as possible, stick to only a few references.

Matagal na rin. October of last year. Important thing is just stay consistent with your study habit and pray :) I remember before I would spend the whole day for two months just studying. The feeling of failing just sucks and I doubted my own capability kasi nga I failed at the minimum level of questions. But I know you can do it! You got all the way to 265 questions. 50/50 ka. I think you know your content very well. BTW, what state are you in?

Hi Melai. Same here. I failed on my first try with 75 questions. All I did was self review with Saunders and Lippincott. I think it's very wise to take a review class. I did Kaplan's review classes. They are expensive like you said, but it was worth it for me. I passed the second time with 75 questions as well. Their qbank questions are hard as well, very much nclex-type than the ones you will encounter with saunders, lippincott or whatever reviewer questions you have. Remember, it's not always about remembering content. It's also about picking the right or best answer! Most nclex questions have all right or possible correct answers, you just have to pick the best one. That's what Kaplan teaches, test taking skills. But with review content - all I did was Saunder's. Feuer's is also good. To prove my point with Kaplan's qbank - I was getting 90-100% scores with Saunder's reviewer, but when I did Kaplan's qbank the first few times, I could barely get above 30%

Sorry. Wrong choice of words. "You have to do what they tell you" - you mean the client and her family? Well, they weren't really specific about the things I should do other than attend to their mother's need. I'm just concerned about documentation. I don't want to have a problem with lack or insufficient documentation

I've read from the Medicaid package that proper documentation is required. I have written down nurses notes on a notebook but I have a feeling that that may not be enough. I've read from others that they only bring a notebook. The clients family didn't seem concerned at all about nurses notes/documentation of what I did or the patients status and they've had independent medicaid providers before.

Hi everyone, so I passed the nclex a year ago but has been having a hard time getting hospital job due to lacking the 1-2 years of nursing experience requirement. I have been working as a PCA since January but just last week, started working as an independent PDN. I found the case through craiglist and to my surprise, they hired me. They just basically wanted a nurse to assist them with their mother's care. I'm very much new to this private duty nursing. My questions are, what exactly do I do? where do nurses notes go and where do I write them down and where do I submit them? what are other forms i need to do? I don't wanna sound stupid but I'm really at a lost right now. Any response would be appreciated :)

Congratulations! I always love hearing about passing the second, third, or however many times. Not because of failing, but because the determination of all you in wanting to pass and succeed this exam is very inspiring! I didn't pass on my first try but I did on my second. Once again, congratulations! you can finally work that license you've worked hard for!

Hi guys! Since we can't speak tagalog, I'll speak in English. I graduated two years ago like most people here. I come from Davao and after graduation, I immediately gathered all necessary requirements to take the nclex. I didn't take the local board since I'm a green card holder. So I was taking this nclex at a disadvantage. I applied for NCLEX October of 2009 and got my ATT on June 2010. I scheduled my exam last week of July. I was so anxious to take the exam already that I didnt want to wait. But during the months in between, all I did was self-study but I admit I was easily distracted like most here. I would spend more time online than studying. I didn't have the motivation as I was always alone in my room just studying. I studied lipincott and saunders. I was very unsure and unprepared the night before my exam. I didn't sleep at all! I kept doing review questions till the morning and my exam was at 8 am! So during the time of examination, I was restless but I was ready to take on the test. It took me a little over an hour and my computer shut down at 75 questions! It was weird that I felt like I passed. But when I did the PVT, it went to the credit card page. I cried so hard. It felt like I was dying 'cause I know I'll disappoint my parents when they hear the news ( my mom is also a nurse here in NY ). I couldn't sleep. What was worse was I had to tell my mom the results. I waited for her to go to work so I wouldn't have to tell her personally. She called home and I told her I failed. I just knew my mom was so sad. I could hear from her voice. But she told me to just study again and to not give up. She told me it doesn't matter how many tries I'd take, she'll support me until I become a nurse. So after that, I cried till my heart contented. Then I told myself, enough crying. The next day I enrolled at Kaplan. Guys, it's really worth it. They teach you the testing skills need to pick the right answers. And their online test is very similar to the NCLEX. It's a bit expensive but definitely worth it for me. I took my exam the week after our classes at Kaplan ended, which was two months after I took my first exam. I again took it at the same time in the morning, but at a different location ( don't want negative vibes ). I passed it with 75 questions! I knew I was doing well since I tallied all the hard-type questions I got and out of 75 I had more than 40. So guys, don't give up! Kaya niyo yan! Just pray to the Lord. During the day of the exam, remember, let go and let God. God knows how hard you have worked and he will do the rest. Some tips - don't read books. just do questionnaires over and over until you get them almost perfect. I probably have done close to 10,000 questions in my two takes. At first I would get 70-80 percent but it still felt "kulang". I did them over and over till I'd always get 95-100% - make cue cards. list down only important things and things you DONT know or have a hard time remembering - Take breaks when studying. Information overload will make you NOT remember what you have studied - EAT before you go to the testing center - Don't study on the way to the testing center, but make it an opportunity to clear your mind and have a one-on-one with the Lord. As I said earlier, on the day of the exam, let go and let God! If you guys need motivation, you can freely contact me and I'd be willing to help my fellow kababayans! And I must say, those people who have said the nclex is easier than the local board have no idea at all! international students have a 48% passing rate on the first try compared to the 85% of US studenta
