Howard Community College Application
Oh I wanted to add that if you applied for the day option than you will probably only have to wait until the spring semester since that program admits in the fall and spring semesters. Also, i do know someone that was number 25 on the wait list in past and they ended up getting in because so many people dropped. Hopefully that makes it a little better for you. Good luck.

Howard Community College Application
Hi Nurseinthemaking, Sorry to hear that, many students apply to more than one college so perhaps those that got accepted will decide to go somewhere else and those who did not will decide they don't want to wait and go somewhere else aswell. Then you will move up on the waitlist. Don't get too down it won't be so bad. Did you apply for the day or evening/weekend option?

Howard Community College Application
Hi, I have a question for anyone who knows anything about the nursing program at HCC. I submitted my application for the RN Evening/Weekend program in this past fall 2010 semester. I have all of the requirements completed. Does anyone know when they start the lottery selection process? And about when I should expect to hear back (do they contact you by mail?) on wheather I am accpeted or on the waitlist? Thanks for any help! Primie

What would you do? neep opinons
I think it depends on how much of a support system you will have during this time. Like, will there be someone there to take care of your child while you attend school? Someone who is dependable? You don't really want to have to call around last minute looking for someone to take the baby while you go to class. Aside from that it takes a lot from you as well. Can you manage being in school, studying, and taking care of a baby? I say if you have someone like the father or your parents who can help you with the baby and you have the determination to keep up with school then go for it. Things don't have to stop just because you have a child. If you are prepared to work hard and very hard then you can do it. Of course your child comes first no matter what but you know yourself better than anyone else. you know what you can handle and what not. So if you need to wait a semester or two or three then thats okay as well. But just know that you wouldnt be the first and certainly not the last women to raise a baby and go to school or work. It has been done many times. Good luck with this. Any decision you make will be the right one for you.

CCBC Prereqs
Hi Sharmurph, I went to the CCBC site to look for you. I don't know if you already found out what you needed to know but it does look as if they offer a night class for BIO 110 in the Spring semester. If you go to the main site and drop down to record and registration under the Current Students tab. Then on that left hand side there will be a list. Go to View Class Schedule. On the next page in blue you will see "view the onlien class schedule" (this is not only for online classes). CLick that and it will take you to a database that lets you search past semester schedules. I looked at Spring 2010 and they did offer the class you were asking about in the evening. So if you want to check it out for yourself it is there. Good luck!

Number ONE on waitlist! So frustrating
Good luck Tag, I hope you get in. Can I ask you a question? How many lotteries are held? I want to apply for the Fall 2011 Evening program. I pal non finished the Chem prereq this fall so I was wondring if I should submit my app now or just wait til I am done with that class. Would I have a better chance of getting picked if I submit my app sooner rather then later? Thanks, and let us know if you get accepted!

Question about Howard Community College program
Hi, I had a question about the selection process for the RN program at HCC. I want to apply for the evening/weekend program in September when they start taking applications again. I am worried because I don't have the greatest GPA. I started out majoring in business and did a horrible job in my classes before I decided to switch to what I really want to do which is nursing. I have done well with the science courses completed the prereqs but unfortunately my GPA is pretty low still (2.3). So my question is do they base admission into the program on your GPA at all? I took the entrance exam and passed and I my GPA is above the required 2.0. I made some mistakes when i started school but don't want that to hold me back. So if anyone has any advice on this please let me know. I really want to apply this year.
