Honestly.....suck it up and try again next year. I'm sorry to say it but it is your best option. Stay on top of them about your app. Always make sure they have recieved everything and it is being processed. You will be responsible for yourself in nursing school and especially as a nurse. It sucks but it's a habit I would advise picking up now. Learn to CYA!

I was talking about Children's. However a lot of schools have clinicals at places their students cannot get jobs. For instance we have clinicals at Childrens and we are only an ADN program

Not sure who you talked to but they only require a BSN. I know many people qhorking there and who got hired from schools that were not nlnac approved

Depending on your schedule your clinicals will be different. Anywhere from Kaiser Sunset to Huntington Hospital, Glendale Adventist, St Joes in Burbank, Childrens Hospital and more.

Its absolutely tough, but that is nursing school. Don't expect the As to come easy. Theres too much information and 2 years is not even close to enough time to learn it all, but that doesnt mean you won't be prepared. You will feel lost after first semester. There's so much thrown at you and itd a completely new way of learning amd studying. After 2nd though things start to come together. As far as job placement every professor I know will take the time to write wonderful letters of recommendation and most hospitals love GCC grads. Our school has a wonderful reputation at the hospitals and our school also does interview prep and posts about job opportunities all the time.

I beliebe dehydration gets the highest priority. The tachy and LOC are results of hyperglycemia and dehydratiom. Being a diabetic I also know that when I go into the hospital for hyperglycemia they always push fluids first and treat the dehydratiom because the the insulin wont work while severly dehydrated. Once the insulin can be administered it will also cause the potassim to decrease naturally so if you were to treat the hyperkalemia first they might end up going too low after the insulin is administered.

I plan on bridging for bsn then msn and eventually my doctorate since in 2016 that is what will be required for an NP.

I was spring 2012 cohort and I graduate this December. I was actually accepted at other programs and decided on GCC after attending orientatioms at all of them. I absolutely love the program, instructors amd clinical experience. I feel like they do a wonderful job at preparing you for NCLEX and help with job placememt after graduation.

You can make a personal choice but I know that our program has a hire rate of at least 60% of grads within 6 months of graduation while most other schools in LA are at 20-30%
