***CLASS OF 2011***
I am a month and 1/2 into my program too.. and Im loving every minute of it! We're at our second clinical site already.. We went to a long term care facility first and now we are at a local hospital currently on the rehab floor, cant wait to go through the other floor rotations. We get so much information everyday, and the program seems to be going by so fast.. tests every week and quizes every other day. You have no choice but to be prepared. My teacher is amazing too, so that helps alot! She has a 100% pass rate for her students who took the NCLEX for the last 2 yrs, so I feel very lucky to be in her class. So far we have completed Nurse Aid Health Care (NURA 1301) and Clinicals (VNSG 1160) and are just about to finish up with Clinicals II (VNSG1161) and Foundations of Nursing (VNSG 1402). In November we start Pharmacology and I fear that will be the hardest class of the semester Hope everyone is doing well in your program.. The semester will be over before we know it!

To Buy or Rent.. That is the question!
Thanks for all the suggestions! I think Amazon turned out to be the best route for me.. Their prices are amazing.. And I'm thinking all these books will be good for future reference anyway.. So, renting wasn't the best option for me.. Amazon came quick and it was free shipping w/ no tax and the books were in perfect condition.. Hope everyone has a great semester of school! I'm so excited, and can't wait! ;D

Study tips and Supplies for LPN students
I bought a Pulse Smart Pen.. I have trouble catching everything during lectures. This pen is a dream when it comes to completing and reviewing notes, and I highly recommend it. It records lectures as you take notes, and if you miss something, you just tap your notes and it replays what you missed! You can also buy a little flip notepad to use with the pen and small enough to fit in your pocket. Perfect for clinicals! It is a little pricey, but is something you will use over and over again! Good luck and Congratulations!

To Buy or Rent.. That is the question!
I am starting Baptist School of Health Professions, evening LVN program, in San Antonio this fall and just got my book list! I am so excited, but I'm debating whether I should buy or rent (or maybe both) my books this semester. I've always bought from L & M Bookstore in the past, but of course money is very tight and nursing books are pretty expensive; not to mention there are so many!! I know there are a lot of websites out there, but I was hoping to get some suggestions on where to buy/rent books. Any thoughts and recommendations will be very much appreciated! Thank you!

Baptist Health School San Antonio LVN fall 2010 You in?
I will be starting the Evening LVN program in August! I am so excited but very nervous at the same time. I will be working part-time while attending school and just wish I was able to devote all my time to school, but I'm sure we all wish that. Im sure this year will be crazy but I am looking forward to every minute of it! To everyone starting this fall... :ancong!:
