  1. Yes I have been in Texas for 2.5 years now. I am working in a children's hospital and I love it. It is different then in Canada where I am from. Message me any questions you would like to ask.
  2. I am from Newfoundland, I am a RN at the Janeway Children's Hospital in the ER right now. I am moving to Houston, Texas where my boyfriend is now. I am hoping to continue to be with children but we will see what the road brings. I am excited to move and I love the weather here. All the best to you on your exam. La Charity is a great book, it gives you priority questions which I had a lot of on my exam. Also NCLEX 4000 gives you the different styles of NCLEX questions which I found good. NLNurse
  3. Hi, I am a Canadian RN that just passed the NCLEX on the 4th try. I will tell you it is not easy and nothing like the CRNE. I would do the CRNE over a million times then have to do the NCLEX once. I am not saying it to scare you I don't want you to be under prepared like I was the first time. I would give yourself at least 2 months of studying and do at least 5000 questions and pray every day (it actually works). I used Kaplan, La Charity (highly recommend), Exam Cram, Kaplan Med-book, NCLEX 4000 and multiple choice through the group that I was going through. I hope this helps you. What part of Canada are you from? Where are you planning on moving? Good Luck with the studying and the exam whenever you plan to write. NLNurse
  4. Good Luck to you too. It is a nice feeling after so long.
  5. Thanks for the advice. I am trying to do the things I normally do each day. So far I am relaxed. I will keep praying!
  6. Thanks Everyone! I am feeling good about this.
  7. On Oct 7th which is only 2 days away I am going to be writing my NCLEX exam. I feel really confident that I will pass this time. Praying every day was what kept me going. Wish me luck! Good Luck to everyone else who is writing in the month of October. NLNurse
  8. I use those scriptures every day. I hope by me praying every day it helps me pass and stay positive. Thanks for the advice.
  9. I finally booked my test time for October 7th. I am nervous but I hope that all my studying and praying pays off. I pray every day that I pass this exam and I hope someone out there answers my prays. This will be my 4th time trying and I hope it is my last. I have worked really hard and studied even harder. I have done Kaplan, Exam Cram, and I am starting La Charity. I also have the Kaplan med book. I am thinking about getting Davis but then I think to myself that what I have is enough. What do you think? Good Luck to all the other test takers in September and October. I hope we beat the NCLEX. :0)
  10. I need all the praise and encouragement I can get in order to get through this. When you fail the NCLEX exam it is hard to get your confidence back up and to start over. I hope and pray GOD is giving me all the power and energy his has to get through this next month. Good luck to everyone else who is writing the NCLEX.
  11. Hi Gold2010. I am a foreign nurse too and will be joining this group. This will be my 4th time preparing and writing this exam. I am not sure my date yet for the exam as I am still preparing but I know it will be around the end of Sept, early Oct. It is very difficult to focus on studying when you have been disappointed so many times before. All I can do now is pray and hope God willing I will pass this time around. I will PASS!!! I pray that we all pass and good luck everyone!
  12. Hi, I would love to have those notes. My email is [email protected]. Thanks, Erika
  13. I am wondering the same thing. I am thinking about doing the live course but wondering if it is worth it.
  14. Hey everyone, I am trying to figure out which course is the best course to take to pass the NCLEX. Thanks!
  15. Opps...my mistake, I just looked at my ATT and noticed that is did come from Pearson Vue
  16. Hi, You need to get your ATT from BON before you can select a time and date to write the test. You need to contact BON to see where your ATT is at not Pearson Vue. Once you get that from BON then you can book your appointment. I hope this helps.
  17. I am a nurse in Canada and I am working full time while I study for the NCLEX. How should I go about studying when I have 12 hrs and 8 hrs shifts and plan to write the exam in 2 months? I have these materials: Kaplan 2010-2011 NCLEX-RN Exam Cram Kaplan NCLEX Meds Prioritization, delegation and assignment book Right now I am going back over some areas that I feel weak in. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
  18. Hi, Thanks for all the advice. Caliotter3 which one did you use the DVD, Online or Mobile Review? I am not sure which one would be best for me. I was thinking about Hurst last night but I will look at this one now. Again Thanks!
  19. I am a Canadian Nurse who wrote the exam 3 times and was unsuccessful. It does bring you down and is very expensive but if you want it bad enough it will come but it needs time. I too passed the CRNE last year and I feel that trying to prepare for the NCLEX is insane, the amount of time and effort I have put into this exam they should pass me anyway, lol. It doesn't work like that though. I am currently a RN in the Children's ER but I would rather be with my boyfriend in Houston, Texas. Good Luck to you!
  20. Thanks for the advice I will keep reading the forum for other tips.
  21. Hi Everyone, I have taken the exam 3 times and was unsuccessful. I have no idea when I will be writing again but I would love to have a prayer said for me. It is hard to be a RN in Canada and not be able to pass the NCLEX. You feel stupid and small, why can't I pass is the question I ask myself everyday. Only GOD knows!!!! NLNurse
  22. Hi msmoll, I have taken the NCLEX 3 times now and failed all 3 times. I am feeling the same way you did when it comes to study material. I have no idea what else to do. What materials are recommended? I am not sure when the next time I am taking the test but I need to pass. It is so frustrating!!!
  23. What materials are you using to study for the NCLEX? I have been unsuccessful with the exam and the materials I have are Kaplan (2010-2011) and Exam cram. Are there other books that are highly recommended?
  24. Hi Everyone, I am an RN from Newfoundland, Canada and I am trying to move to the US with my boyfriend. I am trying to figure out what else I can do to help me with the NCLEX. Unfortunately, I have taken this exam a few times and had been unsuccessful with it. I have done everything I can possibly think of and I am at the end of my rope when it comes to studying. If anyone has any suggestions to help me prepare and pass this exam I would appreciate it. Thanks!!
