Thank you as always RN oz1 :redbeathe I have looked at their site already. I am working on my immigration papers through another route via my spouse (my wishful thinking projects being there in 6-9 months) and I am thinking of enrolling in ARNTP when I get my PR. This will hopefully mean a cheaper tuition for me and not having the problem of going home after the class ends to wait for an offer. I am thinking of submitting my application to ARNTP at the same time so that once I get my PR I can enroll there immediately. Or should I wait for my PR? Any thoughts from anyone here will help. Thanks!

I am not a pediatric nurse too. But I have had a similar experience with my son. My son was not too keen on the breast feeding thing at the start and he was given a supplemental feeding. I tried several times but my son wouldn't latch. My nurse had me express my milk and put it in a small bottle with a small nipple which was supplied by the NICU. It totally worked. Breast milk in a bottle. A combi of both.

Good you're doing it on your own! From what I remember, you get your RLE from the school and that is what you send. I also had 2 week rotations. Your school should have a copy of that. Yes, to my knowledge, being a clinical instructor is considered nursing experience.

Hey Eve, welcome to the thread! Im thinking of doing the ARNTP. But probably August. Did you have to get AHPRA approval? I emailed them but they haven't replied. I just resent my email a few minutes ago.

Hey Cioman! Yup, I emailed them right after I posted my inquiry here if anyone tried ARNTP. They have not responded though:confused: Ill probably try calling them.

Happy new year everyone!!!! W-O-W because this thread is still alive! I see cioman is already in Australia! After all this time, i haven't passed my application. I printed it out, answered it, did my CV and that was it. Had too many things to do these past couple of months. I almost forgot my username here and had to try a few to post again hihihi Congrats to everyone that has made it through. My new year's resolution is to stick to my plan of going there. AHPRA doesn't have a specific format, but they have specific entries there that need to be included in the one you make. I remember seeing that from their site, although I suggest you check again. Wow, this new thread is 10 pages long already. Cioman, thanks for all the info:)

I see the world in 10-20-50 years from now to be colorless and borderless. And I don't mean thru a security standpoint. Worldwide immigration and increasing acceptance of multi-cultural-ity (pardon my english) will change the face of nations. Never thought to generalize my perception of Americans, otherwise I would have to eat my words:)

If you've made up your mind, just make sure you research well about the school you intend to go to. There's a thread in the news section of this forum where a school in California had to be closed for no accreditation. Good luck!

But I take great offense on labeling Filipinos as the main culprits in this thread. Sure.... you don't talk about every Filipina in the history of Asia..... right.... My english is probably so bad that I misunderstood posts that kept mentioning Filipinos this and that. Why don't we all start threads about each races traits and let's see how long the moderators will keep that open. It even goes further by repeatedly questioning the education and competence of a United States Registered Nurse who happened to be Filipino right? Not only are they rude, they are also educationally inferior? If one's performance is a problem, wherever they came from, they should not practice. If one's credentials are a problem to you by all means file a complaint in your facility, or what the heck, go to your BON and tell them an inferior race is practicing in your country. Oh and I love that we should all beware of the foreign speaking nurse who loves volunteering for overtime but doesn't do community service. I thought that the general consensus here in All Nurses was that most hated overtime and that most do not answer calls from work after work to make sure they don't get called in. I thought most nurses are so overworked that you don't have time for a quick lunch break, but you declare no community service makes one less of a contributing member of the American society. The mention of specific races here shouldn't have been allowed in the first place. The original OP just mentioned an incident until people, including the OP, started mentioning specific languages. This breeds animosity and racial profiling. And it's F-I-L-I-pino, not Phillipino.

I do not condone being left alone on a shift by a group of nurses taking the same break. I do believe it is rude and inconsiderate to do so. I just wonder how they can all take the same break without no one noticing this unsafe practice. Do your part by reaching out. If you still don't feel welcome, then it's their loss. I would also talk with my NM about being left behind to tend to all those patients, hopefully s/he is not part of that group.
