  1. FYi...beginning Fall 2011, FSCJ will equalize the # of admissions into the RN program to 144 students per term instead of Fall-168, Spring-144, and Summer-96.
  2. I told you so, Lindsayy!!!! Congrats KT2010!!!! To Jesus Be All The Glory!!!!
  3. I told you so, Lindsayy!!!! Congrats KT2010!!!! To Jesus Be All The Glory!!!!
  4. The declination letter said that I have 195.08 pts. I counted 193 incorrectly due to a class that transferred in from another college and I took the NAT twice, so it was difficult for me to determine my true score.
  5. Thanks, Wanna-Be-RN!!
  6. Have faith. You'll get a call. The person I spoke with said they are getting a lot of students declining their seats. I would at least wait until Wed. because they have until tomorrow to accept their offer. At least you know that you are next in line. I'd hold to that as, "Accepted". It could be worse, you could still be thinking 14 people need to decline for you to get in. Fact is, only 1 needs to decline. I'd wait til Wednesday for Columbia.
  7. Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!Praise Jesus!!!!!! I'm in. I got my letter of declination today and as soon as I read, "I regret to inform you", the phone rang from the Nursing Dept. I was 109 with 195.08 pts. She said they are many seats are being declined.

  9. I applied for the summer with 193 pts. I don't know if mine is high enough. What were ya'lls scores?
  10. I have never heard this before. I know about the 150% rule, but obtaining an AA degree may or may not put you at 150th percentile. I thought they went by the percentage of total credits earned. I'm planning on getting my AA during the summer if I'm not accepted into the nursing program in the summer. I need to talk with an advisor. I hope I'm accepted in the program, then I won't have to worry about this.
  11. Does anyone know if this is true?
  12. Knoxy, You can download the application from the school's website under RN program and print out an unofficial transcript. Attached it with your NAT scores (1st and 2nd tries) to the application. Turn them in at NS campus blg C, 2nd floor. I think it's C212, but not positive.
  13. I retook the NAT yesterday, my score increased by 7 pts. I turned in my application yesterday too. My total score is 195. If I don't get accepted for the summer, I'll definitely be accepted for Fall. If I don't get in for summer, I'm finishing my AA degree, since I only need 2 classes. Then, I can apply to FSCJ, JU, and UNF.
  14. I thought the absolute last day for instructors to post grades was the 22nd. I hope not because my A&P instructor is slow about grading. Anyway, how well did you all do on your 2nd attempt at the NAT? Depending on my scores next time, I may have to apply again in the Fall. If so, I'll have Micro and I know I'll get in. If I don't get in i'm going to finish my AA in the summer. Also, an advisor told me to get registered for the CPR course before the new year.
  15. There are several RN program entrance exam study books at the library. The good thing is that they have review sections for Biology and Physics. The other sciences, you'll have to take the courses to gain the knowledge.
  16. I agree. I have to retake the Nat in January and I do not know where to begin studying. I think I kind of remember where I went wrong the last time I took it. I just need to be more anal in the verbal, nonverbal and science sections. The reading comp section requires fast reading and time left to answer the questions. Your science grade will depend on what courses you've already taken. You may want to estimate approx. 5 questions per course from Biology, Physics, Chem, A&P I, II, and Micro. I hadn't taken Physics, A&P II, or Micro last time I took the NAT, so I struggled on those questions. I still haven't taken Physics and will only have 3 weeks of Micro when I take it again, but I hope I do well. Worse case I'll flop on the NAT and have to apply in Fall 2011 after Micro in order to have enough points to get accepted.
  17. Thanks K Nurse-One-Day, I won't count JU out totally. Also 77, you have helped me as well. I'm definitely going to FSCJ for the ADN, then I'll decide what's next when I get to that point. For now, I'm working hard to maintain my grades so I can get into the RN program which the prereqs are a bit overwhelming by themselves.
  18. I plan to get my ADN from FSCJ because worksource will pay 100% for a degree that takes less than 2 years and FSCJ is cheapest. JU has an online BSN program. They also have an RN-MSN program. This would be the more expensive route, so I don't know. My goal is to graduate with my BSN with no student loan debt. So, I will consider working until I can qualify for FSCJ's BSN program or I will work and go to school parttime at UNF.
  19. Thanks. I'm glad you all imformed me because now I'll be conscience on the time I take to answer the questions. I believe they only count to ones you get right anyway. I agree, the cutoff for getting into the program is crazy. What are your plans after the nursing program?
  20. That is crazy!!! How do they expect you to answer 90 questions in 30 minutes. That's less than 30 seconds per question. I'm guessing they donot allow calculators, do they?
  21. Wow. So, the test does not change. The only thing with that is you don't get a printout of all your wrong answers. I take the Nat on Oct. 1st. I'll take it again in Dec. Good luck!!!
  22. Hi all, I'm taking an 8 wk A&P1 and I think it was one of the best decisions I've made. I am getting 4 prereqs done in one semester and only taking 2 classes at a time. Also, the A&P tests are online, in class quiz once a week(we get to drop our 2 lowest scores), and extra credit quizzes online each week all count towards final grade. The best part is the class is M-R, 2 1/2 hrs per day, and I am actually learning the material.
  23. Yikes!! I talk to a lot of Nursing school hopefuls in some of my prereq courses and I recommend getting tutoring if necessary in order to get an A in your classes because the competition is so high. Someone also recommending taking hybrids (ie. 8-12 weeks) courses by themselves or with an easy class. I'm taking A&P I&II in one semester, both eight week courses. A&PI (kent) & Human G&D(online) from 8/30-10/24 and A&PII (kent) & Sociology(online) from 10/25-12/17. Two classes at a time, but 14 credits.
  24. Try FSCJ, SJRCC and UNF, least expensive but most reputable. JU is great as well, but costly.
  25. I read that the lowest score for Fall 2010 was 204.24 with 144 seats available.
