Throw it on the floor?!
I have seen people place soiled diapers and dirty linins on the pillows next to the patient's heads. I wish they would just throw it on the floor. People should be allowed to throw things on the floor and consider the floor to be contaminated which it is anyway. I have also seen people pick up sheets from the floor and put them on the patient which I think is disgusting and disrespectful. I have also grabbed these sheets, which someone took from the floor, out of people's hands and thrown it back on the floor, and told them I would finish up with this patient and sent them out of the room.

frustrated with "online" NP schools
It seems to me like any health care training program that does not require recommendations from past teachers and employers should not be trusted. There is a difference between schools that just want your money and the ones that are really teaching you to be a nurse. I have encountered at least two training programs where they did not require any referecnes. They were not providing adequate training and they also were not being completely honest with their students.

Major Vent
Maybe you could give these patients a letter board with pictures on it so they could at least get their basic needs met. I think there are computer programs that translate languages for you.

Looking for the PERFECT ink pen ;)
I always had a four color pen so my notes would stay readable and the important things were written in red and vitals in green or blue. I put a flower sticker on my pen so other people with a pen just like mine would not run off with it. You should look in places like Staples or Walmart or a major chain to get a good price and good variety of choices. I always have to pick one up to know if I like the feel of it.

Checking your own records with the state
I have checked my record with the state that I live in. I was wondering if there is any way of checking your records from other states you have lived in during years past and how many years back they are available. Can an employer look into your job history from another state from years ago if they want to?
