Question for TN nurses out there
I am in a nursing student from around the Knoxville/Sevierville area. I don't have experience in the job market, but I have lived here my whole life and can tell you what I've heard. Le Conte Medical Center in Sevierville is a new hospital (about 1 yr old), and I volunteered in the labor and delivery unit while in high school and it is a great atmosphere. I have also heard that Baptist hospital in Knoxville is a great place to work, but I have never been inside or know anyone who works there.

Need nurses' point of views
I am a nursing student, and it's becoming more aware to me that I could have chosen the wrong major. Nursing has been the only thing to ever interest me or make me feel like I would be doing something worth while; however, in my past experience I do NOT do well with long shifts or not getting enough sleep. I tend to have panic attacks more easily and my menstural cycles get all out of whack:eek:(sorry males) when I am sleep deprived. When I look at other majors, nothing seems interesting. Is there any way that nursing could work for me??

NP Jobs?? help!
That's what I've heard. And the university that I was looking at has a very nice hospital so that is probably what I'm going to do. I've never liked the idea of taking a few years off of school. I think it'd be really hard to try to get myself to go back to school.

NP Jobs?? help!
I am about to graduate high school and am planning on going to a university and becomming a NP. I was reading though that NP's with little to no experience would have a very hard time finding a job. I don't want to go to college for 6 years then end up not being able to find a job. any advice or comments?

The Nurse's Role in Providing Spiritual Care - Is It OK to Pray?
I know what's "politically correct", but when you are in the Christian faith there is no such thing. Being a Christian effects everything you do and is appropriate in every situation, even in a work place. If you truly know God then you'll know that He's not something you can just leave out of certain "inconvenient" times in your life. Sure, you can't force a patient to pray with you but it is appropriate to ask, whether or not you think the person will accept. If they don't then all you can do is pray silently and go on, but as a Christian, the least you can do is offer hope to someone who is in desperate need of it.
