Nurse Fee Fee

I don't think makeup is really the issue for me anyway. But if a nurse came to my bedside to care for and she was smelling bad, bad bo and her her clothes looked really messing had spots all over them. I mean just looked a hot mess, my mind is going to wonder how clean is this person who is fixin to give me and injection, put some meds in my IV. I would be to comfortable with that. A clean professional appearance goes a log way, especially in patient care.

Prosecuted for fraud it would seem like.

At the end of the day or the middle of the is one thing, but when you begin your day smelling like you just ended your day, well there's a problem.

Interesting I work with a nurse who has bad BO, I don't work with her all the time but she works for me on the weekend and every monday I come in I get complaints about the odor and the dress. Spots on her uniform jackets, shirts she wears. Not little spots but biggin. Unfortunately I had to report her to my direct supervisor be cause I was getting to many complaints. At first I told the people that I work with hat they are just use to working with me and seeing how I carry my self. My scrubs are pressed, or folder and pleated quickly out of the dryer, clean shoes, cleans nails, no tips (man saving alot money since taking them off) hair laid, and a little touch of smell good, I have allergies so I can only wear but so much. One thing that bugs me is seeing nurses wearing their scrubs pants up under there shoes, I think that is just tacking , but hey if they let you get away with it. I know if you work for me or with me I might have to say something to ya. OK waiting for it........( whew hope I don't have any grammatical or spelling errors.....LOL if I do I look good doing it....lol)

I am a former CMA went to school for it, when I first went to MA school in 84 we were called physician assistants, true no lie, trying to remember the name of the school, but my age gets me every time. I must admit as I progressed along I thought to myself after going to MA school again that I did the same thing as a nurse. Anything they could do I could do also. Yeah right NOT, not even close. I decided to go back to school and start my nursing career, cna required before you actually go to nursing school, practical nursing school, NCLEX_PN passed, now trying to get the RN step done, so forth and so on. Well I went to my doctors office one day not sure how we got on the subject, oh yes I do the MA asked me if I was a nurse and I said yes, and I said you a nurse she answered well yes kind of slow, I said really, I know my doctors office don't higher to many nurses LPN/RN they higher mostly MA to keep cost down, and way she admitted to being a MA but added it'as the same thing as being a nurse, and I explained to her nope sweetie don't think so. I use to think that also I told her when I was a MA, but after going to school and working as a nurse I truly begged to differ. Well needless to say she was pretty hot with me an avoids me at all cost when I have to go see my doctor. I don apologize to my fellow nursing for thinking they was I thought when I was an MA, but in my defense I never ever once called my self a nurse, Oh but I am now and very Proud to be one..

Don't have to ask her her license number, just look it up on the BON site in your state and show a copy with her name could not be found section....

If you want to go on the a regular college most of your classes will probably not transfer

The LTC I worked for was like that. That had this beautiful facility, wood floors, a snack bar just lovely. Everyone all smile and cheerful, I was like wow, seems like a great place to work. Boy oh boy was I ever wrong, worst place ever, short staff, absolutely no support whatsoever, unless you were one of the but kissers who got screwed by them herself...After about 3 weeks I put in my resignation had to wait 30days before I could leave, but i was leaving there, i didn't even have another job to go to, all i knew was I has to get out of there.... I worked to hard for my license and wasn't about to let some low rent LTC cause me to loose it. My advice to you sweetie head for the door before they mess you up. I will be praying for you....

Here's the thing guys, as an LPN don't let anyone tell you that you a limited to doing this or that, because you are not. There are many wonderful opportunities out there and if you want to embrace them. I encourage you to do so with all the gusto you can. The medical field is enormous and no telling what you will luck up on if you just push yourself and keep pressing forward. This life as a nurse is full of wonder and splendor enjoy it for what it is. The LPN is not destined to work in LTC only, never forget that. Who would have ever thought me as a LPN would be supervising RN's, and teaching medical classes at a college. It's a great world out there don't let anything stop you from pursuing your dreams as well as your dream job.....

Thank fully LTC is not the only option with your nursing degree. In addition to the home health, clinic and jails, I also teach with my LPN Med Assisting classes. There are many opportunities for nurses out there, you just gotta look and be a little flexible and open to try some new stuff....

Hey Amy I work in the same type of facility. I have ran into an irrate inmate one inmy career as a correctinal nurse. But thank Goodness nothign came on it, I let him knowi n know uncertain terms that it he tried anything it would be the last thing in life he would ever do. Don't know what he thought I had on me or would do, but what ever he thought it worked in my favor.
