  1. I have an APP on my phone that I use. If you use a room # like 03 minus the floor number and use only patient initials, you should be fine. Best bet- ask your charge nurse. Where I work we can use printouts of our patients and write our notes on them- and we do make sure to shred them before we go home.
  2. Select All That Apply- Took the test yesterday- my first TWELVE questions were SATA- I am a nervous wreck!
  3. Isotonic stays where I put it hypOtonic goes Out of the vessel hypErtonic Enters the vessel
  4. I know many students in the TCU and El Centro program. El Centro is very "hands on" and an excellent program. If you can afford it- TCU. If you can't- don't sweat El Cenro- it's a great program.
  5. I became an EMT the summer before nursing school. It was great to have a bit of experience- but it really doesn't help, (maybe if I had been an EMT longer.) The certificate helped with landing a hospital job, and the experience there really reflects what I see in clinical. BTW, I work full time, am a single mom and graduate in a semester in a half-its hard and at times feels overwhelming... but if I can do it, so can you! One day at a time. Good luck!!:)
  6. I have a semester and a half- I worked full time the whole way through. In this economy- I did not get any loan and in TX, you cannot borrow against your home unless paid off 2/3. As a single mom, I did qualify for Pell Grant- which is kind of laughable. I received 700$ for this semester- The government only saw class time, not clinical, and since OB and PEDI are split, it looks like I am only taking 4 hours a week. But if I can do it, anyone can. One day and one step at a time. Good luck with school!
