I wondered why the day class got cancelled, i was going to do the night class, but now I'm reconsidering. I don't want that one to get cancelled too, and all the hospitals in my area are getting their magnet status so I would be forced to work in LTC, whick I don't want to do. By the time you spend 10k on a LPN to work in LTC you could spend the same amount and at least get an ADN from BCC, however like you said the wait list are crazy!It's sad LPNS are being pushed so far out of hospitals that soon no one wil want to spend money to become one adn ADNs will have to work LTC while BSN get to work in hospitals!

How did you make out today? Did you decide where you will be going?

Also camden county tech has an MST class in sept at night 6-10, that's where I'm going.

Wow why did they cancel their class??? I was going to go to bcit next feb, but for the price and the time...I could get an asn! At virtua a entry level right out of school MST makes 14 buks! That's pretty darn good for 4 or so months of school. Check out the virtua website lots of MST posistions!!!the wait list r crazy! I thought they needed nurses...sorry but I'm not waitn 3 yrs!

That's what I was thinking especially if I'm going to sit in class for 2 yrs of my life, but not even work after that because I don't want to do LTC, seems like a waste of 10k....and 10k seems a lil pricey for an LPN don't you think?

Ok, so I thought I had decided to go to school to get my LPN, and move up from there. I would have to go at night so it would take 2 yrs and cost 10k! The school does not take FA so it would be all loans and personal dollars! Then it was brought to my attention that 1 could do the 1 yr of pre-reqs and 1 yr for my ASN and be better off because i could at least get a job. With the way hospitals are trying to get magnet status I would end up working in LTC if I worked after LPN school. My point after this very long story is....go to LPN school for 2 yrs knowing I do not want to work in LTC, at all, or just do my pre-reqs get my MST over the summer so I can do EKGS in hospitals and then do my ASN( and get FA) so I can actually work in hospitals??? anyone have any advice, experiences ????

Hey justin, what do u like and not like about the program? Have u guys had anyone "drop out"?I heard the program does most of the clinicals at robert wood??

I have my test next week, so I'm taking the first steps! I think I'm leaning more toward the night program,although I'd love to do the day! I have a mortgage and bills so... I guess 2yrs it is! Are you now an rn, or an LPN? If you did your RN afterward where did you do it? I knwo this is alot of questions but, what was the HW load like, Where did you do most of your clinicals,did you have school over the summer(i know some programs don't) where were you able to get a job at and if you don't mind what was your base pay?Theres so much info out there my head is spinning, I'm trying to get a grasp on it all. Thank you for the help!

what exactly do you do in correctional nursing? I mean i get the jist, but how does it differ from the norm? I'm sure the pay was awsume, what was a typical day like?

yeah my mom loves it, shes an ER/shock trauma freak!lol geez AC, goodness even for me thats a hike. I know some ppl said they did clinicals at RWJ,in hamilton, which is about an hr from me..it's closer to trenton/hamilton station area. i wish they had 1 or 2 places they delt with and thats it, like viruta and cooper. i wonder how clinicals differ from night to day!

OMG that is sooo rude! what school do u go to, how are they going to deal with patients of all differeant colors,sizes,and illnesses if they can't even give u simple respect! some people have no and i mean no home training!

wow ur comuting from DE! you have dedication! voorhees is off exit 4 on the pike or 32 on 295, im about 30 min from the DE border, im surprised u guys dont have any lpn programs down there. my mom is a Nurse practioner(maybe mispelled lol), she thinks going straight RN is the best choice, if u can, but thinks that regardless everyone becomes an lpn wether u work as one is another story. just like we all take the cna class, but we may not all wrk as a cna before we become nurses. regadless if u love the field a nurse is a nurse, its about helping people and if the letters infront of ur name make u feel like ur better than others, than i think nursing truly wasn't the career for those ppl! plus we'll have a leg up instead of learning it all in a yr(like some AS RN degrees and feeling overwhelmed) we will feel super comfortable and get the "wrk" experience so we can get the job we want not the job we have to take out of school!:)!!!we made a good choice!

ugh if only we could just go to school and not have to worry about working lol!!! I put either campus on my application! At this point i didn't care which one i went to...the RN programs have to long of a wait list! By the time I wait i could've done the night program lol I live in voorhees, so although medford may seem closer, I think westampton may be better because I can get on the freeway super quick vs route 73 and 70. which one did you apply to?

i was considering getting a differant job or working pt on the weekends if i did the day program....im not sure, the night is a long time, but i feel it may allow the info to sink in more??? I have no science background, I'm an accountant so I'm all math!

I just got my test date for BCIT!!! who knows maybe we'll be class mates....if I figure out the funding thing! No Fin. Aid sucks!

Im deciding if I should do the BCIT lpn program, and if I should do the 2 yr night or 14 month day. Can anyone tell me where (I know it can change) they ususally have done clinicals and what times?? I work full time during the day right know is it possible to still work and finish?? I'm so confused any help would be asume! Also at night are there any high schoolers there? thanks! mandy
