  1. I remember seeing it on the listing that we'll hear back by 10/27 for NICU. But would they start reaching out this week? Did anyone's status change on the portal?
  2. Congratulations you guys! I got an e-mail saying that I'm on the wait list for their AGNP program, but fortunately I got accepted into CSULB's! By the way, do you guys know if CSULA officially changed the ANP to AGNP? Because from what I heard the Adult and Geriatric NP are now combined. That's why at CSULB it's called Adult/Geriatric NP.
  3. I work in the ER. Never really worked anywhere else except at a long term care facility and home health as an LVN before.
  4. Yeah I got the e-mail as well. Which specialty are you all applying for? I applied for the FNP and adult/gerontology NP as my second.
  5. Hi guys, I just called CSULA's advisement center and the lady in charge of the applications said we will be notified by e-mail some time around mid April. Good luck to us!
  6. Oh I didn't even know that it was extended. Thanks for the info. Hopefully by the end of this month the.
  7. I applied for CSULA's Fall 2014 FNP program. Have you heard of anything yet? From what I remember, decisions come out this month?
  8. L0VE, Where there even any RN I openings? I've been looking on their site and there hasn't been one for a couple of months now. But congrats! Which hospital and what department?
  9. Yeah I have a little over a year of RN work experience. What about you? How long have you been working for?
  10. Congrats ss0914! I unfortunately didn't get accepted. I called the graduate coordinator today to ask about my status and she told me. Oh well...I'll just have to try a different school. Good luck on the interview!
  11. Has anyone heard from APU yet regarding admissions?
  12. I asked the coordinator before I submitted my application if we were going to get interviewed. She told me that they don't necessarily have to interview unless they want to find out more things about the applicant? So I don't think they interview their applicants.
  13. No, I graduated from a Cal State this past July. I'm not sure how competitive the traditional program is. I've only been reading about the ELM program and it sounds really competitive. Hopefully someone with that knowledge joins this thread and gives us a little info about the program.
  14. Hi luckyshamrock22, Thanks for replying. Yeah it was the application that was due on the 13th. I also received a call from a lady telling me to submit the rest of my application. I told her I submitted it in person. Have you checked your status on home.apu.edu? It should say "complete" if you've turned everything in. Anyway, I don't think December is accurate..you're right that's way too soon before the program starts. I spoke with ******, the MSN coordinator, directly and she told me by the first or second week of October. I asked if they make phone calls or e-mails and she told me that they'd send it out in a letter form.
  15. So I've been searching for a topic regarding APU's MSN-FNP program, and did not find any. I found a lot for ELM program and not the traditional MSN, so I thought I'd start one. Anybody applied for the MSN-FNP program at APU? Or any current or past students that can tell us more about the program? I applied for the traditional MSN-FNP program at the main campus for Spring 2014 and I'm still waiting for an acceptance letter. I spoke with the MSN coordinator and she said that they'll try to have their decision by the first or second week of October.
  16. CoCStudentNurse: oh i see. I had a question regarding the civil service exam for RN I. Do we need to study lab values, meds, intervention and diseases again? Like do they give I clinical scenarios where you have to give them your implementation? Or is it just general questions like telling them about yourself and your goals, strength/weakness, why you want to work there and etc?
  17. Hi Mnt.woman.RN, what other types of questions did the ask in the civil service interview? I have one in 2 weeks and don't know what to expect. Do you have to study your lab values, calculations, and common drugs? Or is it mostly general questions like "Tell me about yourself" "what are you strength and weakness" "why do you want to work here" and etc? Thanks so much
  18. Hi CoCStudentNurse, did they mention how much the starting pay rate is?
  19. Hi guys I just got my letter for to schedule for my civil exam for a registered nurse I position. I'm I'm a delimma because I've already accepted a job offer from another hospital but I also want to work for LA County. My question is for those of you who got hired, how long did the whole process take and what is the starting pay rate for this position? And also, do you get to choose which unit an which schedule whether part time or full time you'd like to work for?
  20. Hi beetlebum, I have a few questions, if you don't mind. I'm interested in applying for KPSAN program as well, but i'm still in the process of obtaining my BSN. I'll be done by the end of 2013. My question is, did you apply to the program as soon as you finished your BSN? And is the MSN and the KPSAN program separate? Meaning, do you have to finish getting your Masters first from CSUF then after you can apply to the KPSAN program? Or is that the same thing? And how long is the program? I looked online and it says, 24 months. Seems short for a Masters degree so that's why I wanted to know if this was a program you apply after you get your Masters. And also, I know that applications are due every Nov., I think? But is this for a program that starts the following year or the same year? Thanks in advance.
  21. Armygirl7, thank you so much for your reply! I actually got the job offer for the ED position! I'm so excited and scared at the same time... good scared though! Ahhh...
  22. Hi guys, I'm a new grad RN and have my first 2 interviews next week, one in the ED and one for the ICU. For any of you that have interviewed there, please please let me know what kinds of questions they will be asking and and tips or advice on how to answer!!
  23. Hi taramb7263, I will also have an interview for an ED position next week. I'm a new grad and VERY nervous. Can you tell me what kinds of questions they asked you in the ED position? THanks
  24. So is this only for the 3 year program or are there peopl here waiting for the RN-BSN acceptance letters/calls too? Anyone got accepted to the RN-BSN program yet or heard anything from them???
  25. Does anyone know if they're still making calls?
