  1. Hi, I am new to this country where nursing is very different from my own country. I feel as if I am just starting out! I am 55 this year and as already mentioned you will be 55 whatever you do so do what you want most! Life is such an adventure and you and I know that however old/young you are you feel the same inside. Good luck and best wishes in your new career.
  2. Hi, Can anyone enlighten me as a foreign nurse, why do you refer to your instructors as 'professors'? They are clearly working as tutors. A real professor is few and far between in the academic world and acheives this title after years of advanced study and teaching including the publication of their research and other work.
  3. We'd just arrived in Brighton UK for the NCLEX prep course. We had two American friends with us. We saw it unfold on the television in the hotel reception.
  4. Hi MiaNJ, Thanks for your help. They sound like a lot of work! I thought all that would be in the nursing program itself backed by a good education from school with the relevant exam passes. It's like that in the UK, more or less.
  5. Why can't JHACO ask why someone is wearing gloves? Surely it must be obvious by what they are doing!
  6. Hi, I'm from overseas in the UK. We don't have pre reqs and I'm curious about what they consist of. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks. Suzeeq.
  7. This is an interesting thread but where I come from in the UK, 'ticked off' means the same as reprimanded! It took me a while to figure out you meant ' annoyed the charge nurse'! Anyway, I hope things have improved since.
  8. Don't you ever have the option to question the dr's orders? If something is obviously inappropriate, refuse to do it!
  9. Hi, What's a goverator?
  10. Thanks for the website. Don't you use iv pumps though?
  11. What is gtt, I only know it as glucose tolerance test.I gather it has to do with drug doses?
