  1. I've barely started my pre-reqs, and even I'm nervous about what is yet to come. The thought terrifies me, lol. What if I'm not smart enough, what if I'm not capable enough, other majors seem so much easier I dunno. I guess I'm trying to develop a new thinking, which is that people do it everyday. They study hard and persevere and become nurses. So at least we all know that's doable. BUt I'm still SO nervous too.
  2. I'm starting this summer too! I'm taking three courses, then I'm supposed to apply to get into a Pharm course, THEN I can apply for NS. The whole thing is kind of lame, lol. But I'll know I'll get there.
  3. Thank you!!! I'll need those come fall You angel, you! Good luck!
  4. Hello all! I'm trying to figure out what pre-reqs I need to take so I can apply for the ADN program at HCC. On the website, it gives me a list of four classes I need to take before I can apply to get into the program (BIOL 2401; ENGL 1301; PSYC 2301; and RNSG 1301) That's fine and all, but I was searching around here on topics about the HCC program, and I keep seeing members mention "pharm class" and some kind of test on dosages and math that you have to pass. As you can probably tell, I'm a bit confused, lol. I've already completed PSYC, but I have no idea what classes I should continue taking this summer in order to apply for the nursing school. Thank you in advanced for your help!
  5. I have the passion and the drive to become a nurse. I know I do. Not to sound like a cliche, but I've wanted to be a nurse since I was pretty small (I used to practice giving my dad shots with a twig, ha ha.) But I really need some advice on actually retaining the information you've learned, something that I've had quite a bit of trouble with. Let me explain: In high school and my college classes, I've learned a lot of things. Some have stuck, some have not. Sure, I can learn it long enough to pass the test, heck, even make an A on the test, and pass the course with flying colors. Next semester, I'm out of said classes. Do I remember a majority of the information? Eh, not really. Not really the specifics. I don't really understand what my problem is! I know it sounds stupid, but what's the difference between memorizing and actually retaining the information you are taught? I'm terrified of passing pre-reqs and nursing school with great grades, only to be clueless when it's time to actually get my RN license and get down to nursing. I tried to explain this the best I could, so I'm sorry if it makes little sense. Is the secret reviewing? Memorization? Just sheer determination? Thank you in advanced for replies! :)
