Thanks for letting me know! Really appreciate it!! I am trying to prepare myself for the nursing school, hence, the search. I really appreciate for your feedback.

Hello All, I came across this site called NRSNG.com. It has an academy that has a vast compilation of study materials related to Nursing school, and NCLEX exams. The good deal about it is that once you purchase the package, it stays forever. Hence, would love to know if someone has used this site or not? If so, any feedback provided would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!
  3. @ Diosa78: I would love to know if you have the done Informatics program online? If so, how did you find the program? How do you find the field so far? Are there lots of opportunities available?
  4. Hello All, I am currently in transition to apply for a Nursing program. I have a previous Bachelors degree, and have a keen interest in the field of Clinical Informatics. I would love to hear more about the field. Is the field growing? Are there lots of opportunities out there in the field? What would be the difference between Nursing Informatics versus Health Informatics? Also, I plan to apply for couple of online programs in Health Informatics concurrently with Nursing school programs. I am looking mainly into University of South Florida, and University of San Diego. Would love to get any reviews/feedback on those two programs. Thank you all in advance!
  5. It would be great if you can give me any pointers on how to score well on the Reading and English section because those are the two areas that I am not doing being able to pull up my score. I have been trying to read the book, and have taken practice exams, but for some reason I have not been able to score high on those two areas. English is my second language, and I don't know if that is a hindrance. Any advice would be greatly helpful!
  6. Hi There, I am looking into the Utah campus 18 months BSN program. How did you find the program overall? Are the clinicals well organized and gives you enough experience to walk into the real world of nursing? Also, what is the employment rate after graduating? Thank you in advance! Bidisha
  7. Thank you very much for all the information! Really appreciate it. I will surely look into applying to the program, and see how things go from there!
  8. I am so thankful to you for all the information you have provided so far! Since I don't know anyone first hand as a graduate from the program, it has been a great help to get an overview of what to expect. However, I have one more quick question, and that is after graduating from the program, do I get a transcript, which says that the courses were offered online? Or do I receive a transcript that would validate the courses as the on campus program? The only reason I am asking is because I would want to pursue a MSN degree further, and I am just apprehensive if grad schools would accept the online course format or not?
  9. Thank you sooo much for being so honest! I really appreciate it. I am from California, so I don't have much idea about the reputation of Nursing programs out in Indiana. However, programs here are very impacted, which is why I am considering the out of state option. I am just being curious, what is the employment scenario? are people getting jobs after graduating from the program? Thanks a lot!! Bidisha
  10. Hi there, I just read your reply. I am not sure yet if I am going to pursue the online program or not because I still haven't neither replied nor have been accepted into the program. However, I am very thankful to you for being so honest about your review. My only other question to you is despite the challenges you have as a student, have you been able to get through NCLEX? or do you feel prepared enough take the NCLEX? Also, are people finding employment after graduating? Thank you very much in advance!
  11. I am also looking into Marian's online ABSN for St. Vincent Health. My question how competitive is it to get into the program? In other words, I don't have straight A's on my pre-reqs, so do they expect their students to straight As when it comes to pre-req grades?
  12. Can you please tell me which school did you get your ABSN in Nursing from? Is it an online program? I am located in California
  13. Thank you all for all your responses!! I am going to look into all the programs mentioned...and hoping to get through at least one of them....
  14. @thefuture2b: Thank you very much for the information! I will surely look into the program details. Also, since you are planning to apply for the same cohort as mine, do you mind to share what are the other programs/schools you are applying to?
  15. @paco69: Thank you very much much for all the information. I am just one pre-req down so far, but not applying until august, so let me see how good i can pull up my grades. I am really keen on starting a program from januar2012, however, if that's something doesn't work out, then definitely the following summer or fall! Do you mind to share what are the other programs you are applying to for ABSN? I initially thought of going into the ADN program, and then later go for BSN, however, in california, all the ADN programs have a 3 year waitlist. Thus decided to go for an ABSN, wherever I get in.
  16. Tuition is certainly a concern for me as well..however, i am located in California right now, and ABSN programs around here are very very expensive. The one i am looking at is $60,000 for a year. So, Drexel seems to be cheaper compared to that. In any case, I have to take student loan, so at this point, just focussing on getting into a program in the first place. Did you finish all your pre-reqs before applying? Do you think it's highly competetive to get into the program at Drexel? In addition to this, if not Drexel, what are the other programs are you looking at? Thank you very much for sharing the information!
  17. Thanks for you reply! As of now, I am open to anywhere in the nation...however, top choices would be california, new york, and texas. But honestly, just willing to move wherever a program takes me!
  18. Hi All, I am currently taking pre-reqs to apply for an accelerated BSN program. It seems to me I am taking forever to finish these courses, however, as of now, it seems like i am going to be done by december 2011. I don't want to wait until the fall of 2012 to start a program. As a result, I would really appreciate if you guys can share some information about programs that accept students during the spring. My criteria is it has to be an accelerated BSN program that would accept application from students whose pre-reqs will be in progress at the time of application! I would really appreciate your help guys:) Thanks!! Bidisha
  19. Hello Everyone, I am currently trying to finish up my pre-reqs to apply to nursing programs for fall 2011. I have a previous bachelors degree, and would like to pursue an accelerated BSN. However, since I live in California, and every possible program seems to be impacted here, I am currently considering out of state programs. An RN from the hospital where I volunteer recently notified me that if I consider going out of state, I should keep in mind that California, Texas, and New York have the hardest state exams. As a result, if I pass any one these state exams, I can easily get a job in some other state. I do have plans to come back to California if I end up going to school somewhere else. So should I just consider applying to schools in these three states, or should I just apply schools regardless of where they are located, and eventually if i want to come back to CA, I would just deal with it then? What about schools like John Hopkins, Purdue, they are not located within the above mentioned states, but have really well known nursing programs. So does it mean if I graduate from John Hopkins, and would like to take the CA licensure exam, I would still find it very difficult? Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, Bidisha
  20. I am planning on starting with an accelerated BSN by Fall 2011, and just like you, I will most likely be done by 2013 (tentatively). I have the same apprehension about jobs. Will there be jobs by the time I graduate? Are there going to baby boomers who would need medical attention? It is kind of hard to predict what will happen then. I live in California as well (South Bay), and everywhere around me seems like there is no job. I have no idea about other states though!! -Bidisha
  21. Hello All, I am currently taking my pre-reqs for nursing school, and to get a feel of the field, I would like to go for a CNA certification. I am currently located in the Bay area, CA, and the nearest program I found was offered by a school called Silicon Valley school of nursing. Did anyone get a CNA certification from them? If so, how's the program? Does it really prepare you well for a real world job? Any feedback/reviews will be very much appreciated!! Thanks a lot in advance, Bidisha
  22. Hey guys, I am currently taking pre-reqs for nursing. However, i will be done with my dev. psych, A&P 1, Nutrition, and statistics by fall 2010. In order to apply for fall 2011, I would need A&P 2, and a chem class with a lab (not everywhere) as part of the science requirements. I will not be done with those two classes by the end of fall. Thus, I was trying to see if any one of you applied into a program that would accept the pre-reqs in progress during the time of application. @Foreverlaur & Gavinsmom: Thanks for your suggestions guys. I was initially thinking of going for an ADN program. However, I figured out that an ADN program would need 2 years to complete, and any BSN program ( traditional and accelerated) would also need 2 years as well. It's certainly cost effective to go for my ADN first, however, I would probably not have time to go for my BSN later due to personal reasons (marriage, kids, etc). So, I have decided to for directly for my BSN. @Nursingstudent0611: I am located in CA as well. However, I don't think SF state accepts students with a prior bachelors degree. I am going to be applying out of state schools as well because getting into a nursing program here in california seems to be impossible to me!!
  23. Hello All, I have a previous Bachelor's degree, and planning to pursue another one in Nursing. I am currently taking my science pre-reqs at a local community college. I am just trying to get into a program no later than fall 2011. As a result, I have to meet application deadlines by early next year. My query is: Most of the schools require you to have pre-reqs completed during the time of application. Is there a program (BSN) that would allow to have pre-reqs in progress during the time of application? I would really appreciate your valuable insight! Thanks in advance!! Bidisha
  24. @dream&achieve: Congratulations for getting into a Nursing program:) Yes, allnurses rocks, and couldn't have sorted things out without the help!!
  25. @inmylove: It's always good to know the views of somebody who is looking at the scenario from a different perspective or experience. Would you mind to share which school you graduated from and where are you currently working at? @Dina: Thanks for you input as well! You are right...being a CNA certainly does not guarantee a job as a new RN, but there might be times, where the experience of being a CNA might actually count towards our journey to be an RN:)
