The Right Way to Collect a Urine Specimen from a Patients with an Indwelling Catheter
With what you said about the cleanliness of your collection bag and this comment, it is pretty clear to me why you are getting so many UTIs in the first place.

does the PVT still work?
Except not really word to the wise, just word to the I-take-whatever-anyone-else-posts-and-interpret-as-supporting-what-I-believe-to-be-the-case-even-though-it-is-highly-unsupported-by-others'-experiences

Please help. Did I pass my NCLEX-RN?
If it tries to charge you and you do not have enough money on the card, you will get a message about insufficient funds, and to try another card. You don't pay in increments. The 200 would be just the price for the next NCLEX that you pay when you are ready to register to take it again. Not t pay for your results.

does the PVT still work?
They are accurate but Pearson refers to them as "Unofficial" results.

PVT question
g I agree with you on most of your points. However, you are really wasting your time posting logical thoughts about the PVT. There's a group of people on this board that have made up their minds that it is a negative, waste of time and no more accurate than a magic 8 ball. I thoroughly disagree on the matter. I personally had a positive experience using the PVT, both before and after it changed, but that is just cast aside as dumb luck.

PVT question
Oh of course, the errors in the links that you posted are my fault and another way of mine to "poke holes." Can't get anything by you! On a side note, even if there were attempts to charge those who passed, I have read many accounts of people eliminating that risk by providing an altered expiration date with a valid card number. Or using a prepaid card without $200 dollars on it. If you'd like to insinuate that I am not capable of reading on the topic my own and assuming I haven't, that's fine as well.

PVT question
If it makes you feel better to think that, that is fine with me.

PVT question
Are you kidding me? Did YOU look? You need to check your own links because they are not linking to whatever you say they are. I am looking for someone to clearly indicate that they knew what to do so it wasn't a user error. And also, saying that whatever result they got was inaccurate is pretty important too, I'd say.

PVT question
This was in 2012! Anything before Aug 2014 is no longer relevant as it has changed completely! Seriously. I give up. I'm just sorry this site is the first google result when someone wants some objective info about the PVT.

PVT question
Don't see anything close to that on #11. And 22, her claim of knowing 3 others who has passed and still paid is not so convincing. Read any of her other posts? Here's one: "Jun 2 by andyyyedm I feel a 50/50 chance some where extremely hard questions some where not easy but not hard in the middle , and I got about 12-15 select all that apply I know I got the last question of the test wrong. Also non of the stuff that I went to review classes during the week ends was on my test so it was a waste of time. I don't feel like it's fair that they have a 10k question test bank there is no way of studying and I'm from California and I been told by rns and lvns that California has the hardest testing that's why if you pass on California you can take your license any where in the USA with out having to retake the tests or take extra classes I just hope I passed"

PVT question
I did in fact go to that post and read the number you specified (#57). Here's what it says if you don't remember.: "an 14 by amdajan6 Just wanted to share this experience. My state board does not participate in Quick Results so immediately after taking the exam I was impatient to wait for the results and tried this trick. Not knowing the forum or any updates on the website my cc was charged $200. A new registration was acknowledged by NCSBN. With few inquireies with Pearson live chat and NCSBN learned that fees were non refundable. The agony is waiting for the results while having this open registration. It is recommended for candidates to check the official results. Anything else?

PVT question
She said "Back to digging for the skeptics who want to believe in the trick...instead of doing the search: PVT and paid 200 dollars and passed..." Indicating it was inaccurate. It wasn't.

PVT question
You get charged if you fail. Who is arguing that is not true? So these links used as examples of the PVT being inaccurate do not show that.

PVT question
First link doesn't work. Second link, those on that page indicated they did fail if they were charged $200 or did not say otherwise.
-
PVT question
Sorry, where does it say that that poster didn't actually end up failing and the results were inaccurate?

Unusual treatments
Yes, I'd be interested to know which one as well. Rubbing an animal's dirty tail on something caused by staph doesn't seem like a great idea.

Pearsonvue trick June 2015
I see that you voted in this poll that your experience using the PVT was negative and it was inaccurate for you. Did you take the NCLEX after the Pearson site was changed in August of 2014? Also, can you elaborate on how your personal experience with the PVT was inaccurate when you used it? What incorrect results did it give you?

Failed A Course...
I am guessing she is filing a grade appeal with the school and listing discrimination as one of the reasons for it. Plus, any lawyer would tell you not to post about your current discrimination case on a public message board.

Failed A Course...
Great attitude! You will be working with difficult people your whole career and figuring out how to deal with them now is a great start!

Does the bad pop up for Pearson Vue mean you fail?
Oh, ok. So how do you know that for every 100 people it works for, there are 20 it doesn't? By listening to the accounts of others? Because that is ANECDOTAL EVIDENCE. The entire reputation of the PVT has ALWAYS been based on either ANECDOTAL accounts of others or that person's experience personally trying it themselves. This has never been anything official to be studied or quantified. There are no "facts." That is in no way evidenced based practice.
-
Does the bad pop up for Pearson Vue mean you fail?
I completely agree with you that the responses you will get for this are ridiculous and out of line. They claim to be here to help guide people and provide "facts" but in my opinion they're just being *****. I find your contribution that it was successful for you and your class relevant. The fact that you have actually done the new PVT yourself means you have more first-hand experience with it than most of them.

How to deal with rude coworkers
Completely agree. NOT acceptable to complain that you didn't let him sit in his urine. Forget this woman. This is the kind of thing I'd report to the manager if it happened again.
