  1. I agree with dienne. how can one be certified in something that they have no experience in? Keep you head up and be persistent. I was applying for 1 1/2 years before I got an offer for a new grad position.
  2. hi all, i saw a posting for another New Grad ED position at NB, at their Vacavalley hospital!
  3. i had my interview today and it was interesting. peer interview that lasted 15 minutes! unfortunately, today is the only day for interviews because it's only for 1 position. apparently they had the posting for a limited time, had 30 applicants apply and interviewed the top 15 applicants. very nervous but at the same time, grateful to have had an interview.
  4. @snuggles33: i do have 18 months of experience. unfortunately not acute care, but I've been able to rise up from a newbie nurse to a supervisor/resource nurse role
  5. thanks newcalnurse. keep you heads up everyone. I applied for a position when I was a fresh new grad and I didn't get a call till 3 days after a friend of mine did. you guys will be next.
  6. @snuggles33: I got the call late afternoon and it's for next week.
  7. did anyone receive a call for an interview? I received a call late today. I'm very nervous. I don't know how many positions they will be hiring but I heard a rumor it's for one position in the ED. good luck everyone :)
  8. what area is this facility at? honestly, i feel that that is low. the snf i used to work for paid me $30/hour for a regular 8hr shift
  9. hey newcalnurse, i remember reading somewhere awhile back to apply to just one listing but I'm not 100% on that. Anyways, you have until Sept. 28 to apply to all of them. Too bad I can't apply, they have strict requirements and I have more than 1 year of RN experience
  10. she said late afternoon on the 19th.. I'm sorry:(
  11. my friend got the call! good luck to those who applied. I heard that there was only 4 spots
  12. ^I don't think it's bad news. you're talking about the med-surg position right? didnt thry just post it? I think everyone's app starts off as received then reviewed and within a couple of days it gets forwarded if they like what they see. my friend who got a call said that her app status still says forwarded. I know someone who works at northbay and she said that if it still says reviewed even after a couple of days, that's not a good sign.
  13. ^ I noticed that my friends who got contacted have this in common: BSN, live in the area, ACLS, and have prior RN experience. also, heard that the interview questions were a mix of clinical and standard questions
  14. got some info for those who applied: the manager is conducting interviews till aboutthe 18th and people could receive job offers as early as the 19th! I heard that they narrowed down the candidates from about 150 to 30 candidates! good luck everyone!
  15. i've read on another website that they begin interviewing on aug. 22...
  16. Those who work/worked at northbay, could you give some tips on the interview process?
  17. a friend got a call for an interview. anyone else heard anything?
  18. DDabeck-thanks for responding to this thread. When will applicants expect for a rejection or interview email?
  19. interesting...one of my jobs is working on-call at a SNF and the LVNs there make about $25/hour
  20. may i ask why you declined the second interview? was it something to do with the hospital? just curious anyone know how the second interview will work? i'm so nervous!
  21. oh wow, that sounds crazy! i'm trying to imagine all the candidates trying to work all together..i wonder if they will split us into groups. anyone get a call back? I interview yesterday and got a call back today! i'm very thankful and nervous. good luck to everyone else!
  22. did anyone get a call back for a second interview yet? I heard it'll be 2-2.5 hours. I wonder what we would be doing...
  23. yeah, I'm local. I live very close to Washington hospital. my interview isn't for a few weeks, in august. couldn't schedule it for July bc I have another interview this month... good luck! and if you could, please share some details!
  24. i just received a phone call for an interview too. for the people who got phone calls for interviews, are you local?
  25. with the economy, even applying to RN positions won't land you a job. an internship is definitely better than nothing.
