Unhappy nurse? How to be happy?
Hello guys! I have been a nurse for 13 years and so far since i migrated to america on 2005 i never felt being happy at all to me being a nurse. I end up jumping to different jobs several times in the past 2 years and still i don't feel that leap in my heart of a thing called "happiness!" how do you know if it is the right field of nursing for you? And how would you know if it is for you???

Nurse concern for patient, but doctor unconcerned and declines to see patient
i learned my lessons throughout the years of my nursing experiences. documentation saves you in a lot of trouble! keep another documentation for yourself alone to remind you of things exactly how they happened the ones that u cnt put on the chart. also, if in a critical situation use ur judgement very well. today, i transferred a patient right before the attending physician called back. otherwise if i waited for her or someone else my patient died already. always pray! God will empower you of seeing, feeling and recognizing things others normally don't do. Goodluck!

I feel like an absolute fool!
1. Don't dwell on the mistakes but learn from it! 2. Chinese looks the same in an unused eyes. I have worked with asian people and i would know exactly what country in asia they are from. It happens all the time. 3. Don't panic! It's always the ones who panic injures themselves. does your MAR have their pix? somehow u will know if that is the right person u saw at 4pm. 4. Always ask the Lord for guidance esp at work and ur daily lives. 5. SERENITY PRAYER: LORD, HELP ME TO ACCEPT THE THINGS THAT I CANNOT CHANGE, COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS I CAN, AND THE WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE...

NEW US Nurse on first hospital job orientation
Hello! Congratulations on your new job in us! Do not be overwhelmed with the situation nor be intimidated of what you see knowing you are from the foreign land. The reason why you have the orientation is for you to somehow be familiar on how things are done in us compared to your foreign land. The preceptor is there to guide you along the way but you have to be honest so his/her plans of precepting you will be organized. There is an evaluation period after your orientation and you are the only one who can say if you are comfortable working by yourself or not. It is better to correct mistakes now w/ a preceptor than being alone. Speak up... Assert yourself & you will never go wrong

How to become an effecient nursing director ???
Hi! I will be starting a new career next week as a director of skilled nursing services in a 120 bed capacity facility. It will be my first time doing it but i have previous experience as a supervisor. The roles are surely different. I want to be successful and i want to meet expectations. Please advise. Thanks!

how to be a great supervisor?
There is no exact way of being one. It comes through time, experiences and mastery of the art of nursing as a team. Each of us play set of roles. The nurse plays the role of a coach/team captain/player delegating tasks and the cna's as co players with proper communication and a set goal of having the best care for the patient makes you win the game. I myself have a principle of role modelling. If the cna's know you can do it then there is no reason you can't. But of course nursing is by priority. First things first and others are delegated accordingly and commands are said appropriately.
