What to expect in a two-year Nursing Program
passive-aggressive behavior and expect to feel that you may wish you had a lawyer at times....

Do you guys really hate nursing this much?
I think its a psychological tactic. If you make someone believe they are "lucky" and they are the "chosen one" to work under poor conditions they will continue to do so. Simultaneously, you also have to break them down and lower their self esteem so they will start to believe they can't do anything else or even fight for anything else. I also think hospitals know its about nursing care, I just don't think they care. I think they go by the motto "If you don't do it, someone else will". I can see why you didn't want your daughter in this.

When will they realise that nurses can only work so hard for so long
Nice idea but it'll never happen. Too many unstable broken people in this "profession" in my opinion, to ever come together to strike. Even if some nurses knew things could change for the better by striking, I think many would still choose to keep things toxic and the way they are. Hate to stay it but I think some depend on the abusive environment to function from day-to-day. As for the hospitals doing this, its about money. Economics people. Why hire seven nurses when you can hire one that will take the abuse while gladly bringing in millions for the hospital. Its a business.

Do nurses age more quickly than average?
Also yes it can affect your personal relationships. I remember taking in the abuse others did to me in nursing and then taking it out on my loved ones. I can say before nursing I'd never done that before. Nursing tends to be a very toxic environment. The sad thing is I didn't even realize it until I really took a look at myself. I started sounding and behaving like the evil administration and nurses around me. and yes crystal to answer your final question you will be exposed to more things than you can even imagine. Really think hard about pursuing nursing. I mean think REALLY hard.

Do nurses age more quickly than average?
Yes. Most I've seen look much older then their age. Aging is a mixture of genetics AND lifestyle. Anyone who works long work hours(with no breaks) and without adequate nutrition while taking on heavy, unrealistic physical workloads will age quicky. Don't forget about the mental stress. The constant worry for getting in trouble and the pain of things you see(its a hospital by the way) will take a toll emotionally. All those things do speed up the aging process.

Im / sq fail due to teacher misleading
Too many tricks. The best way to learn is through positive feedback and truth! Regardless of what anyone says its not a good learning environment when you have to constantly question if you are being tricked(because you are) or lied too. If they want you to learn, they should show all examples and made you aware of all the possibilities and do it in a positive way.

If you speak your mind will you get a bad assignment? Come on..come clean!
i concur. i remember thinking that if only people would stop accepting the horrible treatment that goes then nursing would be better. its like many keep it a secret. but no. many seem almost scared. some of the behavior that some nurses act like is like how an abused child(ren) would behave. its sad. just speak up. most men would.....

Dismissed from school
The program I'm at is very racist too. I remember them failing people for no reason or for really ridiculous reasons.

Anyone regret ever having stepped foot in nursing school?
Yes. I regret it.
