  1. Hmph! I had 1 like that too! Her name didnt by any chance begin with an "M" did it????
  2. thank you for your advice.... & for being so nice about it :)
  3. kind of scary..... but thanks for forwarding the story!
  4. WOW! Really? Could you be any nastier to him/her about it? I HOPE that you are NOT a nurse with that kind of attitude, I would feel really bad for your patients! Anyway, as for my opinion.... yes it may be hard at times, but it is possible to get through it. As stated previously, help her study, get involved.... try not to make her "feel bad" for not spending time with you. Studying & taking exams may come easy to some but for others.... studying day in & day out may be necessary for others to "get it" and succeed. Buying household items in bulk & freezing pre-made meals could save some time for you to spend with one another when available. There will be days when she comes home sooooo excited and wants to tell you all about her day and what she learned..... even if it does gross you out! LOL! Then again, there may be days that she comes home in tears because she studied as hard as she possibly could & still failed an exam...... either way, just try to be there to support her. The years will go fast for her but for you, it may seem like foreverrrr.... don't worry, there will be a light at the end of the tunnel and if you stick around to see it, you will be amazed! After watching how hard she worked to succeed, you will be so proud to see her graduate & pinned...... and she will be grateful to still have you there supporting her! BTW- Many hospitals consider three 12 hour shifts to be full time! You may have more time to spend with her then than you do now. Remember..... it takes a really caring & special person to be a nurse..... which I am sure for you would be the ideal canidate to spend the rest of your life with! :) Best of luck to you both! :redbeathe
  5. Never had to make the call myself.... but if I ever have to, I will DEFINATELY think twice! Thanks for the heads up!
  6. @ nyforlove............ thanks for the advice, i will pass it along. as for the "fishy scenerio" my friend helped this man and had someone call 911. the 1st to respond was a volunteer firefighter that heard the call. he then told my girlfriend that he could not legally give benadryl to the patient, but if she wanted to "borrow" it she could. she assessed him for allergies, medical history and his ability to swallow before giving it to him. shortly after, the ems arrived & brought him to a nearby hospital. concerned with how the man had made out, my girlfriend left her cell # on the windshield of his car asking him to call her & let her know that he was ok. when he called her the next day, he thanked her for saving his life, told her he owned a bed & breakfast & offered her a free weekend for acting selflessly on behalf of a complete stranger. she told him it was unnecessary to offer such a gift..... she then later thought about the ramifications of what the situation could have brought.
  7. Does anyone know..... In the state of NJ, can an off duty RN legally administer benadryl to a stranger that is having an allergic reaction to a bee sting? Also, after all is said and done, could the RN accept a gift that the stranger insists on giving the RN for "saving his life"? Not money, but a free weekend at the B&B he owns.... How does the NJ Good samaritan laws work in such a situation???
  8. I COMPLETELY understand how you feel... I was so sick the day I took mine. couldnt eat dinner, I paced the floors, I looked up answers to questions that I was able to remember (only to find out that I got a few wrong, which didnt help, I was then convinced that I had failed), I didnt get to sleep till 1 in the morning. During that time period, I found this website & I read the trick thread for a while & then I tried it. Getting that pop-up really eased my mind. Friday, my house got the BEST cleaning of its life, LOL, then I went to work & got up at 7:15 am. My advice? Try to keep yourself & mind occupied... clean, go to the gym, blast some music, drink.... something! But STOP looking at the pearson website because it will not be there till the morning. They are an hour behind us, I would plan on checking it at 9am on the nose.... havent heard of anyone ever getting it earlier than that, so try to sleep in a little. Since you got the "good pop-up", I'm sure you will be fine. I took mine in Scanton, how 'bout you?
  9. I got mine today (Saturday), 3 of my classmates got theirs on a Sunday. I took mine on Thursday, they took theirs on a Friday. One of my classmates took their exam in Pa, but was applying for a Va license... & found out after, that Va does not participate with the "quick results". Good luck to you! :lvan:
  10. YAY!!!!!!!! I PASSED! Just got my results on the Pearson Vue site this morning at 9:00am. The "TRICK" worked for me. So, does it really work? I believe. I know we all want a "glimpse" of hope while we are waiting for our test results, AKA: one of the most important events of our life, so trying the trick the night that I took my exam gave me that hope. I read so many threads on the pearson vue topic & to me.... it seems 99% TRUE & that it really does WORK! Anyway, it worked for me! Just wanted to let you all know! GOOD LUCK to all the rest who are still waiting for the results!
  11. Just took my NCLEX RN yesterday. Have to wait 48 hrs to get my result. I had "75" questions, no calculations, lots of prioritization & infection control. I live in PA, but applied for NJ license. Tried the "PEARSON VUE TRICK" last night. It didn't allow me to get to the payment option, so I am keeping my fingers crossed! I will let you all know if it REALLY worked for me tomorrow..... for now, it has eased my mind a little. Good Luck to all!
