  1. Hello, I just found your post after researching this company. I had an interview this past Wednesday and I am in a similar situation that you stated you were in. My question for you is what did you end up deciding to do? I am supposed to know whether I got the job by monday and I feel uneasy just settling on the first job that I may possibly have as I also do not plan to stay in dialysis. However, the hours match what I am looking for since I have two children. I would appreciate any advice you may have. Thanks!
  2. I have always believed the words that my parents told me when I was young, "You can do anything if you put your heart into it". Your story has totally proved it! Congratulations!!!!!
  3. Good Luck! Please keep us all informed! Relax and try not to get yourself too worked up before the test. I was so nervous going into the test that my hands were trembling. You will do great!
  4. Congratulations!:yeah:It's hard to believe that it's done though! I'm not doing ANY celebrating until I see my name on the board of nursing website though.
  5. Morgan! You are going to rock that exam! I have faith that you will! I truly believe that the road that has led us to this test was the hardest part to get through!
  6. Okay, I took my test this morning. The first 15 or so questions were super easy and then BAM! I got 12 select all that applies almost straight in a row! I don't feel confident at all that I answered any of those questions correctly. So anyways, I took a few deep breaths and kept on going. Next thing you know I am on question 52 and notice that I keep getting the type of question that requires you to pick the priority patient to assess. That went on up until like the last 5 questions. I looked up to see how many questions were left and was terrified. Those last five questions went so fast! The screen shut off on me. All I could think was, "Is that really the end?" I walked out of the testing center at 10:10am...I started just before 9am. So from 10:10 up until 1pm I was trying the Pearson Vue trick like every 10-15 minutes and finally got the "good" pop-up, "You are already scheduled to take an exam. Please contact your board of nursing yada yada yada" I am so happy and on the verge of tears on the inside (tears of joy) but am optimistically holding them back because I want to know the definite result. So now and probably every 15 minutes up until it changes, I am looking for my name to pop-up on the board of nursing website. Thank you to all who were hoping and praying for me and for all of the advice!
  7. Thanks Astarrh1. I am very appreciative of your advice and had no idea that I couldn't take a jacket. I am in Maryland and it's quite cold out. I will post an update sometime tomorrow to let everyone know how it goes. I am getting my kids in the bathtub and then heading to bed. I hope I can sleep sound.
  8. Is it true that the more SATA that you get, the better you are performing? I read somewhere else that somebody thought this was true. I guess I will be tallying on my white board all of the SATA that I get during my test. Thanks everyone for the advice and positive thoughts! Im praying this works out. I haven't had a job since October and can't really afford to keep sinking 300 dollars on this test if I fail.
  9. I am scheduled to sit for the NCLEX tomorrow morning at 9:30am. I have been reviewing for about two weeks using ATI and Saunders. I do not feel prepared at ALL for this test. My question is, does anybody ever feel completely prepared? Is this a normal feeling? I got a 99% on my ATI comp predictor exam. I took a 4 day live review through ATI and was given more online assessments that I could take to study and learn my weaknesses however was told to aim at getting at least a 60% on them. Well, I only got a 53% in nursing care of children and a 48% in leadership. I have gone back and reviewed the material I missed but I just don't feel like I am ready for this test. At this point it's too late to reschedule so I am just going to go for it and hope for the best. Fingers are crossed.
  10. That's what I originally thought too but when I was looking up risk for injury, it said in the NANDA dx book that bleeding risks should be addressed with ineffective protection. I am in my last semester of nursing school and never used that dx before but when I started brainstorming the idea, I thought that infection, bleeding and injury would all fit under that dx. I am thinking I may just save myself some time and go with my gut to use risk for injury and the infection separate. Thanks for your advice! :)
  11. Hello, I don't generally post on here but I have run across a question as I am composing my care plan for a post-op tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy of a four year old child. My question is, I understand that after any surgery the client will be at risk for bleeding and infection. I was thinking about my nursing diagnosis being Ineffective Protection r/t post-surgical bleeding and infection risk. Can I address both of these issues with one diagnosis? If so, do I just come up with two goals? Or should I address them individually such as Risk for Infection and Risk for post-surgical bleeding? AND, I know that risk for post-surgical bleeding is NOT a NANDA diagnosis so I just need some of you advice on how to address this issue. I am open to constructive criticism and advice. Thanks!
  12. I'm very thankful that you asked this question as I am in my last semester of nursing school and find myself scattered and unorganized in my patients' care. I had a routine down when I was given one patient but now I am given three patients and just can't seem to find a good routine. Thanks for asking and thanks for all the informative replies!
  13. I had to do this same assigment like 2 or 3 weeks ago. Ask nurses in your clinical rotation. If there is nobody on the floor that is willing, they usually know others who will and will refer you appropriately. Good luck!
