  1. Hey congrats! i got accepted as well, and start in the fall. I'm SOOO excited! I think i might take pathophysiology next summer ... but i would've had to take about 2-3 summer classes if i didn't have most of my pre-requs done. i've never taken summer classes before and i am a bit worried how they are going to fit a semesters worth of information into a couple of weeks. Good Luck everyone!!
  2. BrownEyes3000: If don't mind me asking what area did she go into. If i do decide to go to med school, i don't have the slightest idea what concentration to go into.
  3. i'm considering finsihing my a.s. in nursing while i complete some of my pre-med courses. thanx for the adivice. every little bit of encouragement helps.
  4. I've studying to become a nurse and i am going to start clinicals next spring. But lately i have been wondering about going to med school. I'm 23 with 2 kids, i don't know if it's too late to switch to pre-med. Do any of you know someone who waited to begin a pre-med program? ... i feel so undecieded i just wanted to hear some different points of view before i make a decision. thanx.
  5. thanx! i'm going to do it monday.
  6. so i have a question and hopefully someone can help. i want to get my own background check done before my school does it for clinicals. can i get it online? if so do u know of any safe websites i can go to? or do i have to go down to the police department? i have a stupid mis. from when i was 15 and now i'm 22. so it was 7 almost 8 years ago. thanx in advance
  7. i'm going to transfer over to a private school from a public and they said 95% of the students there get federal aid and/or are on scholarships (academic or sports). It is pretty easy to get into, but it is a good program, i haven't heard one negative thing (besides the cost, $22,000 per year) from any of the nursing graduates. Also all but one credit doesn't transfer (micro), and one class that is not offered at the public school is all that i have left to take for general requirements. So private schools aren't all that bad, just do your homework before making a commitment.
  8. i'm thinking about transfering from ivytech to saint francis. i have heard alot of great things from people who have graduated from there, so i was wondering if any one has went there if they think that it is worth the money (b/c it's very expensive). how competive is it? is it a good program? thanx in advance.
  9. i'm going to go to the one in fort wayne, thanks for the help.
  10. i'm going to transfer to saint francis from ivy tech.. do you have to have all the pre-requs done before u can start the nursing courses?? b/c i'm not done with them and the website catalog makes it seem like you can complete both at the same time. And if you don't mind tell'n me.. wut did you get on your teas test... i got a 72, but i plan on retaking it this summer.
  11. I'm am going to switch majors from nursing to radiology, and i have to take the HESI entrance exam, I have already taken the TEAS. I've heard that HESI is also a nursing test... so I was wondering if anyone can tell if if there is a site like testpreview.com that gives practice tests? Is is similar if format to the teas?? I have plenty of time b/c i'm done done with the pre-reqs.. so i have another semester of those. any input would be helpful... thanx in advance :)
  12. my motivation and excitement went down the tube after last semester... heres wut my skool does engl + a&p 1 + a&p 2 + psych a=30pts b=20pts c=10pts =120 teas............................................100 soo the 50 with total pts closest to 220 get in i bombed the teas last month so i have to take it again while going to school full time... my english teacher is very reluctant about giving a's (he's the english program chair-- big mistake taking his class) and it's my second time taking english b/c i got a b. so this is the only time i can retake it to count. i worked hard on my paper and got a 42/50!! nobody got an a on it.... grrrrrrr and we start a new project when we are close to finishing the previous project. i have to have an a.... [sigh] i taking a&p2.... i think every one knows how hard that class is. microbiology... i like it but this girl in my lab group thinks she knows everything b/c she took it last semester. and i'm writing two research papers!! two. i'm starting to wonder y i'm putting myself thru this, i work really hard and it seems like i'm getting nowhere... and will i ever get into the nursing program and if i'm having a hard time now can i even make it thru the nursing program... ne advice/tips... how does every one else manage everything... thanx for letting me vent
